McMillion is a ILB from the Memphis area. He visited this past Summer with a bunch of kids all from Memphis area schools. We offered him that day. If we could snag him and Jeffrey Holland it would be definite FAP time!

Having those 2 with Tre Williams, Deshaun Davis, and Rashaan Evans (i think he's an OLB after he bulks up in college) in addition to what we've already got would be as elite of an LB group as you'll find ANYWHERE, including west vance.

I'd unagine we will have some type of rotation where on passing downs Rashaan is an OLB and rush downs Star for size

Yeah Memphis does cause some eyebrow raising. But that kid is solid.

quote:I hate to compare him to a player from Bama lore but Evans really could be a Derrick Thomas clone in terms of what he could be as a Rush OLB. Evans had 17.5 sacks this season in the toughest region in Alabama this year. He did that while as a DE that was outweighed by 40-70 lbs by OTs blocking him on a weekly basis.

I'd like to hijack this thread for just a second to throw out my first post. I've been an Auburn fan all my life, grew up in Opelika, and am now attending college away from Auburn. I've been lurking since 2010 on the rant and figured now was as good a time as any to go ahead and start posting. WDE Beat Free Shoes U
P.S. did it in this thread to avoid making a new one.

So I wonder what effect the game will have on recruiting and any of our top targets.

I think none. We played well with less talent. Recruits can upgrade it.
Posted on 1/7/14 at 2:05 am to Rabern57
It won't have a negative effect

I can't wait to see a Defense upgraded with all we have, with possibly Evans and Williams, to go with Gus's Offense.

So pumped to see what DQ can do at WR.

and Moncrief at S. He would have hammered Greene on that long pass play
Honestly I've been more excited for Moncrief than any player in this class. I can't deal with CBs playing S anymore.

Yeah. We haven't had good secondary play since Powers left after the '08 season. I'm ready for us to have some.
ETA: The secondary did play one of its best games last night though. We were just outmatched in the end and had those two or three breakdowns that we're always prone to having back there.
