Jokanson said his offer would most likely be related to how we felt about Evans the other day.

Not saying he didn't say it, but they play totally different positions.

That statement seemed to be more speculative than matter of factly stated.

As an aside from all the specific talks about this class... it's crazy to me the contrast in the last week before NSD 2013 and NSD 2014... we picked up tons of momentum with a huge OV list last year... firmed up Lawson, got Barber on board, and stole Adams.

Compare that to this year, and it feels like we're just trying to hold it together before reaching the finish line...

Recruiting is absolutely crazy sometimes.

It's a yearly tradition on the Auburn message boards that no matter what is happening leading up to signing day, we'll have more than our fair share of people melting like a candle.

Yea, would seem weird. We are planning on a safety regardless of what Evans does. Boston seems like a replacement of Parker and Bonney.

we came off the worst season in school history, and no one melted last year... we're coming off one of the greatest runs in school history, and everyone's primed for a chernoble-like meltdown, for sure...

My melt is more of a glorious blaze one might see from lighting a Christmas tree on fire.

IMHO, It has more to do with Bonney and Parker not coming. We wanted one them plus RE . RE will not play safety

Note: I have zero idea where RE goes.

Last year the majority of the recruiting class still was either uncommitted or looking around. This year is totally different with the majority of the class firm and only a couple of prospects left on the board.

EDIT: I'm saying this b/c it's easy for people to forget apparently. Nobody should be melting over what happens these next couple of days with uncommitted prospects.

Do we need a magic number to get to 85? Do we need to process anymore?

I would like to know what are numbers are as well. How many returning scholarship players do we have?

Sweet baby Goku I spend one Sunday away from the board and this thread gets 20 pages of Chicken Little "the sky is falling."

Evans would be great, he's a heck of an athlete, but we've got 20-something other guys on board who will have every opportunity to be as great as Evans could be. And we're not exactly hurting for talent at the star backer.

Get a grip.

By my quick, uninformed and unofficial count we have 64 returning scholarship players right now.

So signing 24, we need to cut 4 players.
