It's supposed to get in the 40s tomorrow with lots of sun. The ice will melt pretty quick.

Chip Lindsey was hired as OC at Southern Miss. Gus is going to need a whole new crew of HS coaches again.

Nice quote by Braden Smith's HC about the OV a couple weeks ago per Hoke LINK
quote:

He said it was awesome. That was the most excited he's been through the whole process," Gourley said. "I knew it went well. I got a phone call from Coach Grimes and he said it went well.
Given Braden rarely expresses himself to anyone that sounds pretty good.

3... lindsay, pogue, and mcgee.

with the success we had this season, this isn't that surprising.... good for these guys... that's what the support system is supposed to do. Hopefully some of these guys will develop into great on field coaches and end up back at Auburn one day.

I wonder who we will end up picking up to replace them.

I wonder if Gus will go after Alabama HS coaches to fill the positions, or some other state like Arky or Georgia

Does anyone know the frequency of members of Saban's HS support staff to move up the coaching ladder like this?

update on Prestwood per 247 LINK
quote:

Plant City (Fla.) offensive tackle Jordan Prestwood is going to continue his wild recruiting ride a little longer.

The 6-foot-6, 310-pound lineman has been connected with Florida State, Notre Dame, Auburn and number of programs.

Since his transfer to Arizona Western last Fall, Auburn, FSU South Carolina, Miami and others re-issued offers to the four-star. The Tigers were considered the favorite until Prestwood was not able to become a mid-year enrollee.

Now with him looking to enroll this Spring or Summer, he heads back to the drawing board. Currently Missouri is showing interest and a potential visit is on the horizon.

"I've been talking a lot with Missouri lately," Prestwood said. "I'm thinking about taking a visit soon, maybe this weekend."

Prestwood also confirmed he won't be signing this Wednesday. He plans on taking a few trips and evaluating his options.

I would hope he would hire some from Georgia and/or Florida, but with the Arkansas connections, I could see at least one being hired from there as well. Go where the talent is, Gus Bus.

I would love to hire a coach from Texas and milk those SEC network footholds in Texas for recruiting.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if he hired someone like Tim Carter from Auburn High, or goes after a coach in the Mobile or Birmingham area.

If we hire 3, I would love a BHam/Mobile coach, Texas Coach, Miami coach

If we could establish footholds in those places, we would be set

the good thing is other coaches will be attracted to those open positions b/c of the upward mobility... it's a definitely a good thing.
