I agree, but that was a pretty raw interview. I just found it interesting is all. I liked his dad's description of Bo...

All of the people close to the program (Gus Malzahn and the rest of Auburn's site, Bryan Matthews, Keith Niebuhr, Allie Davidson, Justin Hoke, Jay G. Tate, the recruits, etc) feel really good about RaShaan Evans, and continue to say so, yet our fans just don't trust it and think he's going elsewhere. I guess that's fair after seeing what happened with TJ Yeldon, Reuben Foster, Cyrus Kouandjio, and Brent Calloway...but I think we should trust what we're being told.

I'm with you.

It is a good interview and the kid was open. I don't really have an opinion either way and I only trust LOI's. I brought this for information and let everyone come to their own conclusions.

A pretty revealing Q & A with Rashaan Evans
Didn't like the tone of his answers from an Auburn perspective but he seemed honest

It would suck if RaShaan Evans went to UCLA or Alabama, it would suck really bad. And we are all definitely free to make our own judgments and form our own opinions. With that being said, I feel like we should trust what we are being told by people in the know. It seems like most are being negabarners about RaShaan Evans and his future.

Should I mention here that the Alabama staff still believes Auburn leads, as well as the Auburn staff feeling that they lead? That was in an article immediately following his visit to Alabama.

Was hoping for warm and fuzzies from that article...
And didn't get them. We'll see what happens in a few days.

Even with my orange and blue glasses that article left me with neutral feeling. I hate the there is so much pressure on him. I think the decision to stay in Auburn would be much easier if it weren't for that.

Thing is, once he gets in a program the pressure will be no different... He won't have more at auburn bc he went to auburn high... and the pressure to perform in Tuscaloosa will be intense as well... That's what happens when you're a 5 star guy.

FWIW, I think his dad has no real vendetta towards Auburn. I think he shares his experience as something for Rashaan to keep a level head during recruiting. I also think the pressure he shares is also what helps him achieve the success he has, and something all highly touted recruits feel. He is just one who actually shared it.

I think it will come down to where he feels he can be most successful at and comfortable with. I have no doubt with all that he said if he feels Auburn has the best opportunity for him he will choose Auburn.

Evans: “That’s the thing. Let’s say I did go to Auburn, it would be like high school all over again, like I got a microscope on me because I’m here. Everybody here that is involved with football, they know me. The fact I came out of Auburn High School and I were to go to Auburn, I have no other choice but to be successful. It would almost be like people would see me as a disgrace to Auburn if I were to not be like everybody plans to make me. They’re really putting me on a pedestal right now. They’re like ‘We’re giving you the fame, the features, all this. Don’t screw up.’ It’s a lot of pressure, man. It’s a lot of pressure.”

I don't love this part.

Here's my take. I agree he is under emmense pressure to stay in state. The pressure of succeeding big and not being a failure if he chooses Auburn I think is in his head. I feel he is psyching himself out on that part. I think most of us would be more focused on being happey that we finally got a highly recruited AHS kid to stay home. Just my .02

I didn't get this feeling at all. It's not like his dad got beat out by some Joe Schmoe. He realizes that Bo was in a way different league than himself.

i feel likes Evan`s heart is with Auburn, but from previous things I've read he was really looking to get out on his own away from his hometown. Auburn`s season made it that much harder to leave and now he`s searching and maybe trying to justify to himself why he needs to leave.

That dude is not coming to Auburn. Said it since last summer.

Hope I'm wrong. We will see on NSD.
