I've posted that about Bates a few times. Yeah, he struggled at times because he always wanted the big hit, but as the year went on, he got much more disciplined and wrapped up. I think he's going to have a pretty good year, as long as he doesn't get swallowed up by TE's and pulling guards, which happened some last year.
He's in his sr year, so at this point, I think he realizes what he has to do to be successful at the position. At least I hope he does.

Rivals must have some kind of vendetta against Bower. He and JJ should have been as sure as it gets for a 250 bump.

Totally agree. He is the last of our 3 star guys I definitely think should be a 4* without question.

I don't exactly remember, but it seems like I remember Rivals bumped him down from a 4* earlier in the year for something. They're not fans

He may not want individual players taking the spotlight away from the entire team. Which makes sense, really.

He shot down rumors of him committing this weekend. When asked why, he replied:

Why am I not surprised that a high school coach once again steps in during the recruiting process. Smh.
I'd tell my coach that, while I appreciate his advice (if it is in fact advice), he needs to respect my decision and I don't really care what he wants ME to do.
