What’s next for Lawson? He will meet on Monday with new Auburn defensive line coach Rodney Garner, who famously passed on Lawson when he was UGA’s recruiting coordinator. Garner has been trying to build a relationship over the last three weeks with Lawson, who is still listed as an Auburn commit.

“It’s a work in progress,” said Lawson, who added that his son will “definitely” take an official visit next weekend with the Tigers.

Clemson coach Dabo Swinney also has an in-home visit with Lawson this week, probably on Wednesday.

Unlike most, well virtually all elite prospects, Lawson has no plans to announce his decision on TV, or sit in front of a table of hats.

“He’s just going to call the school, and it will be done,” Lawson said. “There’s no press conference or anything like that.”

Some recruiting analysts, including 247sports.com's Gerry Hamilton, are projecting Lawson to sign with Tennessee.

Lawson has been brought up under a strict household. He's going to be good wherever he lands. I really hope we can hold onto him

No press conference is good for us right?

On the other hand, we might not know till NSD if he doesn't announce.

Yeah, he's the recruit I want the most. He's got all the signs of being a good player on and off the field.

I think he'll bring the leadership we've been missing since the 2010 team

I think we'll know. They'll probably call Hokanson or someone and let them know the decision as well

Lawson could absolutely be a stud, but Foster is our top priority. I don't even think that's debatable.

Our LB corps is pure trash and has been for a while. We need a difference-maker like Foster in the worst way. He's our most important recruit of this class, followed by Lawson.

Foster is going to visit SDSU on the 29th per JHoke. Burning his last official.

Not that it really matters, but this is incorrect. Prospects can take up to five officials. He's taken three so far (Washington, Bama, UGA). He can still come to Auburn for an "official" next weekend, although he can visit Auburn whenever the heck he wants.

My bad. I saw somewhere he had taken 4 but your right only 3. But the problem to me is why is he visiting SDSU? Instead of staying in Auburn and helping recruit if he was truly a silent commit..

If he was skipping out on AU to go to SDSU, then you may have a point. But it's a midweek visit, and he'll be in AU over the weekend. Who cares? If I was a top-flight recruit, I'd take all my officials, too, and I'd want to go to some places out west as well. Take advantage of a free trip.

I'm not sure why he chose SDSU of all places instead of a USC, UCLA or Oregon, but more power to him. He'll be in AU when it matters.

Rivals guy posted that there's some uncertainty about Lawson showing up in AU next wknd. No idea if true or not, obviously.

1. I think he's already officialed to Clemson, so "the Tigers" must refer to us.

2. This AJC dickhead never fails to lay the UGA non-recruitment of Lawson at Garners feet. After Garner left did UGA realize the error of their ways and try to turn this important in-state prospect that Garner (supposedly) didn't want to recruit? No? Well then, AJC dickhead, maybe if you THOUGHT ABOUT IT you'd realize that it's kind of obvious that UGA determined then and has determined now that Lawson doesn't fit the 3-4 scheme that they run? Would thinking it through really be that hard?

Nope. Recruiting visits are an excused absent.
