We needed a warm body at QB for depth's sake. Plus if he busts at QB, he has talent in the secondary. It's a win/win IMO.
The Dee thing sucks, but at least he went ahead and did it. And maybe Foster will change his mind in regards to it. Our staff has several weeks to work on it, plus he lives 10 minutes from campus.
I hope your right. I just look at our commits and the defensive side has completely collapsed......
You know Im doubtful on Foster and keeping Lawson could be our only chance.

Sorry. Just not so excited about the Marshall pick up.

I am more worried about losing Foster to JUCO than another team at the moment.
Perfectly valid concern when the internet is basis of selfsame.

Thats OK... I dont mind that. I just done see where we need this guy on offense while our defensive class is totally crumbling.

It has been said by some in the "Know" that this is the case. Lets just see what happens. These guys were a all or nothing deal. Once they started to leave the door has not been closed. We will be very lucky to keep Lawson. But I hope I am wrong.

I don't think it's ever been the opinion that Dee was the linchpin of this class. At least I've never seen it stated, written or spoken. He was popular, yes, but not the most important. Besides, both Reuben and Carl seem to be independent thinkers, to be generous with the concept.
And the coaches are shoring up the defensive class. Have a little faith, man! Might be a patch job -- this is a bridge class, anyway -- but we'll have players on D.

Im not sure that was the insinuation. It was said he was the last straw for Foster. We will see

And where will these come from? Did we get some guys I missed?
I think the days of typical Auburn Football is gone for a while. We had better get use to the Big 12 style. Best players on offense. It seems to be our way. I just dont think we can survive like that. I know it was tough for our new staff to hold the Defensive guys together but that is their job.
If we lose Lawson, I will consider the recruiting job so far a complete failure for this year...

You know the guys we've got committed, so the guys not committed but that we've offered and appear possible to probable:
Zach Cunningham
Reuben Foster
Marcus Hardison
Khari Harding
Cameron Sutton
Monty Adams
Add those to the six we have = solid defensive class.

Get out of meltdown mode dude. We lose one guy and all of a sudden we've lost everybody in our class.

Much less one guy everyone knew was going to leave us, and it was only a matter of "when"
Posted on 1/15/13 at 8:50 am to LanierSpots
No insulated rain suit? Stuck inside and feeling slightly suicidal over the 18 year old high school divas? I like it! It's about time we had someone other that TT meltdown.
We all knew the recruiting class could potentially go to shite after we fired everybody post shitshow. If one down recruiting class is what it takes to get back on track, the. That's the price I'm willing to pay.

This is true. A lot of us said "frick recruiting" when we started losing to Vanderbilt and then proceeded to get shut out by our biggest rivals. I know I did. I really want to keep Lawson though.

So does Lanier win the prestigious "TT's Award" for the poster who thinks its never too early for a good panic?

We've also extended offers to Cunningham, Harding, Walton, etc. Also have had or will have visits with Walton, Adams, Lawson, Sutton, Harding, Conner, etc.

I think he has good reason to. It's getting a little too AE in here where we're starting to get the "shut up and wait till NSD."
Just waiting for a coaches know what they're doing type post to really feel the AE enveloping the board. (mind you i'm not taking about your post).
I don't undestand why its against the board code to be concerned about these things.

We have the best coaching staff in the country!
That was a big time AE quote.
For real, let people meltdown it's good for the soul. Plus I agree it's too positive in here when we all know our recruiting class is about to implode. Not that it isn't beat in the long run, but I will admit if we lose Lawson and don't get back Foster ill be pretty pissed.

We need to look long term. DC and RG will payoff in next years class. They'll bring the recruits in.

Ummmm... no.
A "wait and see" attitude is nowhere CLOSE to sunshine pumping.
Just damn!
