Reuben Foster out of the playoffs, lost to Opelika 7-8 in the greatest football game I've ever seen.
Opelika will face Jeremy Johnson & Carver next week in the semifinals, in Montgomery.
Go Dawgs.

Bryan Matthews with an update:
quote:
I will have a full story/feature up later today, but here is what I've gathered so far...
There have been no decommits as of a few minutes ago. Of the seven commits that have responded to me so far, DE Tashawn Bower, RB Cameron Artis-Payne, CB Kamryn Melton and P Jimmy Hutchinson have said they are still committed to Auburn.
DT Dee Liner, RB Jordan Wilkins and CB Jahmere Irvin-Sills are unsure at the moment but still want to be listed as commits.
DE Carl Lawson has no comment at this time. TE Arshad Jackson said he won't make nay decision today. Needs more time to think about.
I wil update this post as soon as I hear from more of the commits. Those are the only ones so far.

I am kind of fine with that. I was never really impressed with Sills like I was when watching Holsey in camp film.

Yep. Williams is gone according to BM also, said he confirmed via text. As an EE, I understand him needing to make a move now and not waiting for what could be a few weeks on a coaching search. i am sure that a knockout hire, if one is made, could get him back on board before it is done.
As for Wilkins, that one would bug me if decommitted. Auburn fans and the coaches stuck with him through a late season surgery when they didn't necessarily have to.

I wouldn't blame him for leaving. I'm hesitant to sign a RB that had surgery in HS anyways.

Yep. I'm still holding the position that if you don't want to come to Auburn to be a part of Auburn then GTFO.
Tired of kids that are only committed to an assistant coach.

Adams, the nation's No. 2 defensive tackle prospect, has long since considered Auburn among his favorites, but will Chizik's departure impact how he views the Tigers?
"(Coach Trooper Taylor) asked me if I was still considering Auburn, he wanted me to be truthful," Adams said. "Me and coach Chizik were cool, I had a good relationship with him, I got to know his wife and kids, but I can still see myself playing there.
"I still like Auburn, I don't look at Auburn any differently now. I really like the school, the campus, and the program beyond just the coaches anyway. That's a plus because that isn't changing."
Adams spoke with coach Taylor late Sunday evening to discuss how he will move forward with his interest in Auburn.
"Coach Taylor said he will keep me in the loop and stay in touch with me. I want to see who the new head coach will be now," said Adams. "I'm not eliminating Auburn because Chizik was let go, they are still very much in the picture for me."

Just read that article.. pretty interesting.
I'll give my opinion on recruiting when I get a chance in a little bit.

From reading statements along with what I've heard from guys that were around them when they visted AU this is what I think.
Cameron Artis-Payne: Gone.. Utah will probably land him and I'd say the chance he stays with AU is very slim.
Tashawn Bower:He couldn't be reached for comment but before the firing he sounded firm despite a change. I'm confident he will stay.
Daniel Carlson: Boulware is retained and he is 100%.. He'll sign with AU either way in my opinion.
Jarrad Davis: Couldn't be reached for comment but from what I heard on his visit and all, he's going to sign with Auburn.
Reuben Foster: Has that tattoo disappeared yet? The fact that Trooper is being retained for now and he went to meet with the coaching staff after the firing, I like Reuben to stay with AU.
Jimmy Hutchinson: Quiet kid.. haven't seen anything on him but I'd take that as a sign he isn't going anywhere.
Arshad Jackson: Rumors were floating around before Chizik's hire that he's leaning towards decommitment. I'll bet that FSU lands him after his official visit there.
Jeremy Johnson: I don't like the situation around him at all. He refuses to talk to the media now and it makes it seem like his time as an AU commit is slowly coming to an end. Ole Miss maybe?
Lemond Johnson: He's in a bind solely because he's an EE. According to his father, he is worried about the next staff not honoring his scholarship.. the fortunate news for AU is that they are so far into the EE process that it may be too late to turn around. They still like the campus and academics so I think LJ is Auburn's.
Trey Johnson: He's said all along that he's going to take visits and such but has yet to decommit. I think that says a lot about Trey. In the end, it all depends on the hire. He's gonna give Auburn time. I'll say stay for now.
Carl Lawson: The fact that we still sit at the top of Lawson's list is great. His family wants him to go to Auburn. I feel he's still ours to lose and the hiring will have a significant impact on him.
Dee Liner: No way he signs with us. Zero. Zilch. Not happening.
Kamryn Melton: He wants to keep the AU class together.. about as solid to Auburn as you can be.
Earnest Robinson: I'm not really confident in Robinson at the moment. He says he's going to give AU time to find a coach and then go from there. Also doesn't want to break up the recruiting class and wants to see what Jeremy Johnson decides.. 50/50.
Jason Smith: He's going to take visits but that isn't news. He says he has always planned to take visits. As long as the new coaching staff honors his scholarship offer then I think he'll sign with AU.
Cameron Toney: Solid as a chunk of granite.
Jordan Wilkins: Who knows.. his dad isn't happy about the situation but he says they still like Auburn. They aren't scared to quickly admit he will be looking around. Mr. Wilkins did say that OM and Vandy are his only other real options.. hmmm.
Jahmere Irvin-Sills: Honestly surprised he hasn't decommitted yet. I'd put money on him signing with WVU.
Cameron Artis-Payne: Gone.. Utah will probably land him and I'd say the chance he stays with AU is very slim.
