Yeah sucks but that has costed coaches jobs and it very well could cost Loeffler.

I hear ya man. I don't even think it was people in this thread that were saying he was a Plan A, because this thread is where the good AU posters post haha. I just remember arguing to many on the SECR that he wasn't the #1 option because of what you stated.

It's not fully his fault, but how was it not seen in practice before the season started. In Spring ball, he should have seen he needed to work on mechanics.

Loeffler can't call plays...period.

In the Clemson game, we've got 2 guys, 2...both going for 7 yds a carry, but KF throws 27 passes??

This game, where was Prosch?? Why isn't he rolling Kyle out more? WHY DID WE CHANGE THE OFFENSE TO BEGIN WITH?!?!

What other options do we have? I don't believe that Clint's shoulder is fine otherwise we would have seen him by now as I think we would have won both our games with a consistent passing game to mix things up.

I think we need to be calling Hackenberg. Penn State is worse than Auburn with no chance of recovery. The competition between him and JJ should make both better.

Best case scenario is that Wallace shows that he can at least be serviceable and we red shirt either JJ or Hack to build depth w/ Kiehl serving as the back-up

In Loeffler's defense, maybe our secondary is so bad that Frazier actually looked like a decent QB in spring ball and throughout fall camp. Heck, our secondary has made every other QB with a pulse look like Joe Montana over the years.

But the play calling has been downright terrible at times. He's got to mix it up up more.

I'll say it. I don't think Jeremy Johnson is SEC material. Yes, he's a heck of an athlete, but he's raw and his throwing motion needs A LOT of work. I think coaches simply see his potential and what he COULD be in 2-3 years, but it's going to take great coaching to turn him into a quality QB in this league. I don't know if we have that.

Yes, we need to revamp our recruiting of Hackenburg or another QB. Just don't have a lot of confidence in our QB situation, and that says a lot in the fourth year of a head coach's regime.

If Jeremy Johnson can read an offense that is all we need right now. Tebow had shitty fricking mechanics and he still made an impact.

Loeffler was brought in to develop Kiehl and the other QBs and develop a power run game.

So far he has seemingly gone backwards in Frazier's development, our power run game isn't being called when it is working/taking out Prosch, and we are allowing a sophomore QB who is having a mental break worse than John Brantley to stay in the game

I can understand why he may not have played more or been more of a factor.

Perhaps, but a stretch play to the left can't be the only run play we have...

I would still like to sign JJ and give him the 2-3 years to develop but we do need the most ready to play recruit we can find to serve as a second or third string back-up from day one

Agreed and gatormb89 told us Loeffler is a poor game planner. I believe him now. There might be other reasons, but I am not impressed.

Do you guys still believe Loeffler was your plan A?

Geep Chryst was ready to take the job and backed out at the last minute.

Hence all the "we're waiting for the NFL playoffs to end" talk.

I think it was seen, which is why they couldn't name Frazier the starter over an injured Mosely, and a true freshman Wallace. It is sadly what I am starting to realize, Frazier is not that good.

Now we know why he wasn't turned loose and given the reins last year and why he wasn't allowed to throw last year. He is slow in releasing the ball and doesn't make quick decisions. He held the ball too long yesterday on several occassions and it really arrived late. He looks confused, deer in the headlights and is showing no confidence or leadership. I really hope he can get it turned around but I am very skeptical at this point.
Last year we cried for Trotters head and when we got Mosley we did not like that either. We started screaming for Frazier and now we want rid of him. We are really running out of options. Anyone notice a pattern developing?

IMHO if I was a College coach I don't EVER recruit and sign a kid at QB you aren't confident in, I would've liked to see JJ simply because absolutely no other option I guess if Mosley is hurt but what would it have hurt. Frazier clearly isn't the answer. The other big head scratcher I had was the run game out of the I was working and getting positive yds and he shied away

And Diddy and Rocky yes I'm in Tampa, good flight we are staying at Marriott Courtyard West Shore and it's right beside this sports bar called Brickhouse Tavern + Tap ZOMG IT WAS SO GOOD wish we had one UN Birmingham great food, PHENOMENAL beer list (over 50 on draft) it was awesome

Malzahn had recruited Frazier since he was in the eigth grade. He had played in that offense since then. To me it really tells something now that they limited him so much last year. It isn't clicking for him on this level yet. Now he is in a totally different offense and that does not help. Reminds me of JC during his first couple of years. I am really pulling for Frazier to be able to turn it around, but it looks like if he ever does it will take a long time.
