Probably didn't know the defense, just trying to get him on the field somehow. If you don't know what's going on you can't be out there.

Wait, is this Bates' position or the other OLB spot? He needs to our starter yesterday, and if he's gonna back up Bates all year, he won't see a lot of action.

Wait... are you saying the coaches should have done that in the off-season?

Obviously Spring was slow for him as he was one year removed from playing WR in HS AND tearing his shoulder up 5 months previous. So you mean in the fall? You're pissed a RFR didn't learn a new system during fall camp and isn't ready to start? I know you don't mean summer, as coaches can't have contact with players. So I guess you're off-season comment meant the 4 weeks of fall practice.

Grimes was asked about Nero and President not dressing Saturday he said "they will be really good players for AU in the future" Sounds like they're getting redshirted.

Derrik Green is showing interest in Oregon, a writer asked him what about the rb's they have and the 2 rb's the've already signed.. Green said they don't have a Derrik Green.

I don't have a problem with him not starting right away. It's gonna take some time -- just like everybody else on D -- to learn this defense, but it sounds like Frost is starting to pick it up.

The question I have is why the frick did we move him behind Bates midway through camp only to move him back to the SAM spot after the first game? It screams panic mode from our coaches. Frost could've spent the last couple of weeks continuing to learn that SAM spot, but instead, spent time at a position he apparently isn't going to play anymore.

I totally agree that Frost should be competing for the starting OLB spot opposite Bates, but why was he moved in the first place? That's a head-scratcher.

That wasn't one of Chip Kelley's recruits, was it? Has be gone after big backs like that since becoming HC? I really don't know.

lulz

You really think that there's that big of a difference between playing SAM & WILL that it stunted Frost's growth at the position?

Ooooooooooook

Don't know. I'm not a coach. Maybe it's not that big a deal, but I just understand the move in the first place.

No matter how much they try coaches can't make a scrimmage or practice the same as playing in a real game that matters. Some players play differently in real games than they practice or scrimmage. The coaches must be seeing that out of some of the LBs and are trying to get the best ones ready to play. Hopefully the coaches seen something Saturday that tells them Frost is one of our top 3 LBs that will make up better.

I don't think any school in the country would turn Green away, no matter what type of offense they run.
