Meh, I can accept someone going through a shooting slump. I think that's all this is, because his shot looks good. Then as you say, I clanks off the back of the rim. Those shots will start falling. Play the game right, and you'll be rewarded.

For Spencer, it's less certain that he'll get his head straight

Spencer will be fine. He was battling one of the best bigs in college yesterday. He still is a freshman physically and mentally, but both will come sooner than later.

Agreed. This is a different game for him compared to AAU and high school. Bryce will be fine once everything slows down for him.

I hope so, but this isn't something that just showed yesterday. He's played that way all season.

I expect Brown to be good, just hard to know when be will put it together and we will hurt untjll he does

As for Spencer, His issues are almost exclusively due to lack of technique. He picks up fouls due to poor positioning and technique. His mental composure is frustration due to being penalized for poor technique

My biggest issue is we don't play a lick of defense and can't play it without fouling. We're giving up 80+ a game on average. Don't know how many more games we're going to win than last year if we continue to do that.

A lot of that is because we shoot 3s, press and fast break. When you speed up the tempo more scoring happens for both teams

We were never going to be great on defense then injuries killed us.

On the perimeter Tahj/Lang, best defenders, are injured then Canty/Dunans are just not good defenders. In the post, skinny Bowers sucks, Tyler Harris and Granger are wing player converted to post player, Spencer is raw and inexperienced

Regarding fouling, that has more to do with new freedom of movement rules and adjusting.

Tahj is out again and may require surgery.....again. Feel bad for him.

That's a shame. You have to wonder at what point he just needs to hang it up. I'd hate to see him have a permanent disability because of this.

Can't imagine he gets cleared again.

Assuming he needs surgery again, this is that point.

Don't know if any of y'all noticed it but AU moved up 15 spots to #54 in the RPI after the Xavier loss. Ny guess is Mercer beating Arky on the road Saturday had something to do with that. LINK

I noticed someone mention it on Twitter. Very cool wonder how long it's been since we've been there

That played a role but a minor one. Half of the weighting of RPI is opponent win %. Xavier being undefeated was guaranteed to improve our RPI (score not guaranteed rank) in a loss. As we play more games against lesser competition, the effect of this will be drowned out

Any competition we play here on out is lower than Xavier obviously but on the whole what's left is better than what we have played.

We have 28 opponents known on our schedule right now. 25% were against RPI top 50 teams. 50% were against RPI 100 teams, and 25% were against RPI teams over 200. Of the rest of our known games 40% are against RPI top 50 teams, another 25% against RPI top 100 teams, & 0% against teams over 200. Obviously alot of this will change on some level but it is worth keeping an eye on right now.

The SEC has done a nice job of bouncing back after a slow start. They were as low as 11th in conference RPI but now up to 4th.

Gameday!!!

I'm glad Pearl got us signed up for this Hawaii tourney. I hope we end up playing Harvard and Oklahoma after New Mexico.

I am doing exactly nothing at work this week. So I just went and bought a TV for my office so I can 'Skype' with my guys in the field.
