I mean,it's been pretty damn catastrophic at Auburn since the last half of '21.

You brought up the catastrophic justification yourself I am saying 2022 was no different than 2012 or 2008.

Agree. But once again. The goal of winning 3 games out of 9 when you had Vandy as your cross division team was pretty low this year

The goal is a positive trajectory until our program can compete for championships again.
Now, we can easily still win 8 games this year including the bowl game. After all of the fricking preaching you have done about Auburn only being an 8-4 school I find your opinion mighty comical.

I never preached anything. I just did the numbers for you. Or attempted to do so. Im not sure why reality hurts you so bad. It is what it is. And hopefully gets better. Dont be so mad about where you came from. 8-4 is the truth. Just Hope it gets better.
8 wins, even with a bowl win would be a nice first year. Its no national championship appearance or anything but its a good start.

No, you did, many times in your whiney defense for Gus's 8-5.

Nobody would consider 8-5 a national championship. We would consider it a just like you said: a good start, and the fans with realistic expectations should be excited by the start.
This is what I said in May:

We are better. We don’t know how much better. Not yet
8-5 is next step higher for a damn good first season.
Championships are the goal but it takes more than one recruiting year.

A Bowl also helps with recruiting, I suppose

I'm not bashing Hugh, but whatever our win total ends up being, we have not improved at all. Any difference in record is down to a much easier schedule

The whole complexion of our team and future have changed for the better by multiples of ten at least. Stats are not going to look pretty this year but the scab is getting ripped off and we are rebuilding.
Last year we didnt make a bowl, we didnt have a coach, and our interim statf was running a remedial football program.

I agree about the future, i am only talking about the product on the field this year vs last

8 wins is a clear possibiility. We have to beat Arkansas this week for that to matter, but I am not expecting to play some world beater in the lowly bowl game. Probably some shitty Houston team again.

NM might be an easy win but I don't think Arkansas is a given by any means. The bowl game is probably winnable but we don't even know which team we will face so we can't be sure of that either. I do appreciate your optimism though.

The product is ten times better than last year. We will go bowling too.
Last year our big win was 13-10 against A&M from remedial football with no certainty of the future.
This year we are competing hard while running our own offense that will get built. The wins will come.

We could easily win 8 doesnt mean any team is going to be easy victory
NM: High odds
Arky 50:50
Shitty Houston type team: 50/50
And I am back to easily seeing 8 wins as a possibility.

No its not. Dude our offense has been absolutely pitiful and Freeze rotating QB's in and out has been a lot of the reason. Plus, both of them suck. Receivers dropping balls like crazy.
We may played some teams better but we also played some very badly.
Saying the product is 10 times better on the field is just not true

Our offense has been pathetic since 2017. Last year we had no real offense.
It will take time to get our offense going.
