Donaldson was a little trigger happy that last at bat. Pitcher was nervous as crap.

Total bed shitting by the whole team and Snitker. Acuna played like a dumbass, hit the ball well but probably would’ve had another run or 2 if he runs the bases smartly and doesn’t admire a 300ft moonshot. Half the lineup is in a batting slump or hasn’t done shite all year to begin with, and now the bullpen is returning to mid-summer form. Perfect timing.

I was at the game and St. Louis looked like the better team all around unfortunately. My biggest question is why was Dallas Kuchel taken out at 60 or do pitches? And why is Luke Jackson on any playoff roster. I had a bet before the inning he would give up at least one homer, well we know what happened.

Because snit is the manager

Braves looked like they were playing tight and Snit sure as hell managed tight. We just looked and played like a totally different team. Keuchel was not getting hit hard. Not sure why we took him out in the 4th. Made it where we had to get through a lot of bullpen innings and dudes without someone imploding. Didn’t like that decision at all.
Still going to keep hope. Let’s beat their ace tomorrow and see where we go from there.

This. Was there also. Thought there was gonna be some late magic for a moment. Needed their first baseman's foot to come off the bag on that review. Difference between extra baseball and not.

I was tatted and feathered for saying that he isn’t equipped to take us far in October.
Don’t care if players like him, or play hard for him - he’s strategically inept.

Can someone explain to me why we pinch hit for McCann? Was it a matchup play? I was dealing with my daughter at the time but was just a move I saw happen but couldn't make sense of.

Exactly right

Does anyone know of the top of your head what the record is since winning the game to clinch the east?

5 hits and 3 walks in 4 2/3 IP. Off of the top of my head the only clean frame he had was the top of the 1st. He was laboring the rest of the time.

Who would you replace him with? Luke shouldn't have been pitching in that situation but Martin strained his labia or something on his first warm up pitch.

I still think you leave DK in and little battle it out. The Cardinals left Mikolas in after he struggled. Greene going in when he did was awful.
Bottom line, Snit got completely away from what was working with the bullpen.

It was kind of a match-up play* and kind of a move to make the Cardinals dip deeper into their 'pen.
Cervelli held up his check swing though, the 1st Base umpire screwed up that call when he struck out the end the inning when he was PHing for McCann.
*Webb is slightly worse against RHB vs. LHB.
Gallegos has pretty even LHB/RHB splits.

I couldn't believe he lifted Fried after only 1 perfect IP with 2 Ks.
That was the biggest bonehead move he made, IMO.
ETA- I forgot about the Sac. Bunt attempt with McCann on 2nd. Probably equally stupid decision, if Snit made that call.

Absolutely. He was cruising and settled everything down. I still can’t believe he put Greene in during the 6th.

I want Acuna to blast another one off this chump:
Martínez took issue with how long it took Acuña to leave the batter’s box after his two-run homer in the ninth, the first of two home runs Martínez allowed in a three-batter span. The Cards entered the inning up four, thanks to their four-run rally in the top of the frame.
“I wanted him to respect the game and respect me as a veteran player,” Martínez said through team translator Carlos Villoria. “That’s it. Just play the game.”

They were 2-4 to end the season after clinching the east.

He can pound sand. He's not Justin Verlander.
