What's stupid about it? Ozzie has clearly been on the decline physically. He's not a particularly fast runner anymore, his range is limited, his arm strength is almost completely gone, and he strikes out a ton. Besides hitting for power, Merrifield is better than him at every facet of the game right now. Love Ozzie, but I can't deny what I've been watching. There is zero chance that Ozzie would have turned those double plays on Trea Turner, for instance. His release isn't quick enough and he doesn't have the arm for it anymore.
He has had a lot of injuries and surgeries over the years and it looks to me like they have caught up to him.

Frustrating season, but watching Sale's resurgence and Schwellenbach's rise were awesome. I think some tweaks are coming to the lineup, but I feel good about the team going forward in general.
