Bowman had a great article on Duvall. Probably the worst OF situation in the league. Maybe AA can make something out of nothing.

Camargo and Culberson both can play the outfield, and will. You will have Riley in AAA that could be called up and play there if he is comfortable, and if he is needed. After that, you will have Pache and Waters that could be ready in the not to distant future.

The outfield situation isnt that bad.

The Braves are thinking about giving Gwinnett 3rd baseman Austin Riley work in the outfield in Spring Training

Is there any concern with his 33% strikeout rate?

Duvall

Has been an awful acquisition by AA. Pache, Waters, and Jenista can't get here quick enough.

I know it's a long shot, but I think it's possible that Pache comes up sometime this season if Dukakis is a shitshow

If what that one Braves scout rings true for the whole organization, then Waters will be called up first as long as he produces.

I remember Waters name becoming more frequent towards the end of last year. Everyone is really high in him:

quote:

@keller13run: You or another Braves writer said Drew Waters is like (Ronald) Acuna. He ended last year in high-A ball and could be in Triple-A. Do you see him coming to the big leagues soon or waiting till September?

A: Waters has jumped out more than any other young player in camp, at least by my observation. His batting practices are something to behold. He already boasts a healthy bit of power, and his age (20) and frame suggest he’ll pack on more weight. Waters has a smooth swing and seems to effortlessly plant balls over the fence. The Braves are extremely excited about him, and to call him the most promising position-player prospect (or second-best behind Riley) in the system wouldn’t be far-fetched. One Braves coach suggested he’s a candidate for a Ronald Acuna-style rise. Now, let’s be clear: He’s not Acuna. Very, very few are. But they could be comparable in the sense that Waters rises to the majors sometime in 2020. He’s already shown to be that advanced. A debut this season feels a bit ambitious, but stranger things have happened. Keep an eye on how he develops physically, because as impressive as his trajectory already seems to be, he might unlock another level soon.

Good article that hits a number of topics within the clubhouse.

Folty, Soroka, Gohara, and Gausman all dealing with some level of shoulder/soreness discomfort. LINK
Hopefully none of this is serious

Touki got shelled today. 5 runs in the 1st and gave up a 3 run homer to Dustin Peterson, of all people

Guys...I am beginning to think the Phillies had a better offseason than us.

Folty's soreness is in his elbow, which scares the hell out of me. Might be time for a desperation call to Keuchel.

Why would we sign an average pitcher when we have 34 guys ready to start in the minors?

but with Harper signing, it will probably take the Phillies out on Kimbrel. Looking more and more likely he will be in Atlanta.

Hopefully the braves are saving their pennies. In 6 years Acuna might be asking for 400 million.

Well Philly isn't going to be fun this season. Acquiring Harper and Realmulto is a hell of an off season.
