Don't encourage those that think he should start in the majors on Opening Day.

A lot of people are going to be livid when it's announced he's starting in Gwinnett.

I'll understand it but I'll be sad.
So far the spring has been pretty great
- Acuna doing what he does : 11 for his last 19, 4 RBI, 2 SBs, ho hum
- Albies continuing to just be a hit machine
- Riley showing some serious pop against MLB arms
- Wisler hopefully showing enough to get flipped to someone
- McCarthy looking healthy
- Newcomb missing bats and limiting walks
- Soroka looking right at home against MLB hitters
- Folty & Teheran looking solid
The only downside amongst guys you are looking for things from in the early spring is Rio (13 Ks in 29 ABs, yikes) and Dansby having slow starts, really.

We don't want a Dansby situation like we had last year, sent down after the all star break.

It's more to do with the team control situation a la Kris Bryant than that

Dansby made his debut the previous year. He slumped, it happens. It'll have no bearing on their decision to delay Acuna's delay a couple of weeks. They'll report to the media that it relates to his development, but that will be a lie.

He should start because he's the best available player however he wont be brought up until after April because of the clock issue and getting more years out of him as a player.

Folty threw 5 innings of no hit ball and Acuna hit another bomb yesterday

Schimpf went 0-30 with 19k's and 4 errors in spring training

Given his power potential at a position where we currently have none, it was probably worth a look see, but I think it's safe to say that he will not be making a roster in Atlanta this year.

Yeah he didn’t do too goodly, it’s kind of amazing just how consistent he was though.

Dansby
I realize it's spring, but .238 BA, tied for 6th for most at-bats this spring, so it's not like he's not getting to the plate.

Dansby is 24 years and barely has a years worth of at bats under his belt. Everyone isn't Ronald Acuna. It takes a little time for some guys.

Dansby's main focus should be eliminating stupid errors. The radio guys have been saying all spring training that Dansby is moving better and is showing more range at SS. If that's true, then he could be an above average to excellent defender. I think that's a more attainable goal for him this season than hitting .300.

Dansby's also changed his swing just a little towards his swing at Vandy, so you know he is using the spring to get back used to it.
I think he will be fine. Tons of pressure was on the kid to come in and be the face of the hometown franchise. Should be much more relaxed this year.
