guy mentioned the Yanks scooped Tex from us in FA...when in fact we traded Tex to the Angels in 2008 at the deadline for Casey Kotchman and a minor leaguer who was garbage. So essentialy we traded Andrus, Salty, Feliz, and others for Kotchman

We gave up the farm for Tex from the Angles in 2007 for half a season. He then signed with the Yankees I believe. Not sure what you are referring to

No

2007 Trade deadline
Traded Salty, Harrison, Andrus, and Feliz to Texas for him

2008 Trade Deadline
Traded Tex to Angels for Kotchman

2008 offseason
Tex signed with the Yankees

That haul for the Rangers might be the best haul as a group every in a trade. There are always trades for big time players and most of the players in the package dont make the majors. Usually you might get a couple of the guys to make the majors, and one is a real impact player.

The Rangers got four players that played in the majors, and stayed in the majors.

Salty-in majors still. 2017 with Toronto. Career 8.9 WAR

Harrison-dealing with injuries. No team right now. Career 7.5 WAR

Andrus-Still only 29! 25.0 Career WAR

Feliz-No team for 2017 yet. 107 saves, 4.0 WAR

And on top of all that the Angels used the draft picks they got from the Yanks signing Tex to draft Mike Trout and Tyler Skaggs (who wound up not being much of a player but being a top 15 prospect they used to trade for Dan Haren).

The fact that we only got Kotchman for Tex was ridiculous and almost as bad as the original trade for Tex.

Im drunk and my plans were cancelled tonight.

Attacking the Braves. Fox, etc...twitter accounts on the fact that Joe Simpson is the worst announcer ever(maybe Chip?) and him being induced to the Braves Hall of Fame is a huge joke.

Join me or laugh at me. Dont really care.

I'm no fan of Joe, but Chip is fricking God awful. I wish we could get Jim Powell over from radio and pair him up with Ben Ingram from the post game show. I could listen to them talk baseball all day.

Just saw that the new mascot is named Blooper. Should have called him the Infield Fly and designed him after the insect instead.

Anyone catch the AA interview this weekend?

Paraphrasing but he basically said that he wants the Atlanta Braves to be good. Not the Rome Braves or the Gwinnett Braves. Having a great farm system is great, but his job is to make Atlanta a great team. Its not his goal to get the #1 spot on baseball america every year.

I feel like once AA gets to see all the prospects and judge them himself, there are going to be a fury of trades.

Not sure how I feel. i am all about using young talent to get us winning "organically" over time. That allows you to reload over time as well. Winning right away would be awesome though.
