I'm happy with the picks I think... I wasn't a fan of packaging the picks personally but given that we did it, at least the two picks are strong.

What is the plan at Center though? If I've followed, we don't pick again until like 57?

Makes sense. Just looked at an article from a couple of months back. There's actually a decent group of younger Centers available in FA if it's still accurate.

Yeah. I'm less concerned with the first round move than the fact that we sold second round picks for straight cash and then still decreased our total picks. Especially with some of the guys that are falling down the draft board so far...

The Hawks were the youngest team in the league next year and are now adding two more rookies in the first round. There is no need to use second round picks on guys that wouldnt make the team over the veterans that are on the roster. Plus, the front office said they didnt want to add many rookies to the team this year because of the youth already there.

After the 19-20 season, the only players that will be under contract for the Hawks will be Young, Collins, Spellman, Huerter, Hunter, and Reddish.

70 million is coming off the books in Bazemore, Crabbe, Hill, Plumlee, Len, and Bembry.

don't be concerned. Schlenk was on record as saying that he didn't want that many rookies on one team. he had no intention of using every pick that he initially had control over.

That's fair... As I mentioned above, once I looked at the FA pool at center, I was definitely less concerned. I do think we need to move on a C that can set the tone defensively... So hopefully we see something satisfying there.

Fernando Bruno in the 2nd round. Just got the backup center everyone wanted. Seems like a good take for the spot in the draft. Good athlete and fills a need.

Welp there we go.

Center was my concern and they got a good one... TITS!

Seems strange to do it the way we did, but I'm not gonna bitch at the method if I'm happy with the results...

Young 20 yrs old
Huerter 20 yrs old
Reddish 19 yrs old
Hunter 21 yrs old
Collins 21 yrs old

ESPN’s mock draft had Fernando as a 1st round pick, so he slid some and we may have gotten a steal. Nice draft again and a reason to be excited about Hawks basketball.... first time in a long time.

Of what was available, I might have been inclined to take the chance on Bol Bol, but we certainly picked up a good one. The only knock I'm seeing really is that he doesn't have as much of the defensive presence that I feel like we want at the position... But Bol is a lottery ticket project too... So it's not like it was a clear runaway choice.

I've never been more excited to be a Hawks fan.

State Farm is gonna rock the next decade. Hopefully we can get a Larry O'B during that time period.

This team is going to be crazy fun to watch.

This is probably the best orchestrated Hawks draft of my lifetime irrespective of how these players pan out. Over the past two years the way this front office has maneuvered contracts, free agents, the cap, and the draft has been perfect.

Schlenk is already the best GM this team has ever had. It's not at all a premature assessment.
