truly think most Hog fans would take a coach that would average 6.5 wins per season over a coach that would average 8.5 wins per year if it meant the 6.5 wins per year coach was a bible thumper that was squeaky clean.

It's maddening. I hope we hire a slimeball mother fricker that wins just to piss some of our stupid fans off

100% is true. Hiring a slimeball would be the best thing we could ever do. It would expose how hypocritical some of those losers are as well. They would bitch and moan. Claim they aren't donating anymore. Virtue signal. Then show up to the games, or keep their seats. Sell the tickets... until we start winning. Then they will have their happy arse right back in those same seats they said they werent donating for ever again cheering on the coach they said they would never support.

Winning cures all. No matter how awful. It would also weed out the weakest of the loser mentality fans/boosters we have. Some will actually walk away. I say good. They are the kind whose thought process got us into this mess in the first place.

While we’re complaining about things, the PA announcer has annoyed me several times this year by calling out the wrong name. Said Deon Stewart was returning a kick, Dorian Gerald made a tackle, etc. against Auburn. It’s like he doesn’t get there are multiple players with the same number.

Even most random fans in the stands know our players.

Ok, let me refute something for just a minute please.

I am a proud Believer and have no problem hiring a coach with problems/past. As there Is nobody perfect. I don't want an active cheating program as OM was doing however. Just because I believe it to be wrong period.

It isn't because I think I am better than anyone, but is because of basic ethics I was raised with and inherently have.

I was thrilled with the Petrino Hire although I asked him straight up with 12 other folks there, "Why should we trust you" well... just a few years later.

If you would openly cheat bigly in football, would you cheat on your wife and family, cheat in business with a friend, cheat in anything else.. Where is the line that you would not cross?

Yes, I want to win and believe Charf to be the wrong coach period. I have no problem with second chance hires, I don't have a problem with many things. But I do with Reverend Coaches who use prostitution claiming God is Good while paying players to do the same...

Is making millions off the backs of 12-22 year olds while they don't see a dime of it ethical?

Maybe, maybe not. I don't really care what our coaches do in their private lives

Whole other subject, however... since you opened the can of worms. I wouldn't have a problem with some payment program for all Football Players, etal.

But we have been through this prior... others, no you specifically.

Scholly, Living expenses, Stipend, Clothing, for a college student is pretty good in my book. My masters degree was many thousands of bucks. Would have loved the opportunity myself.

I believe he was asking you that directly as a closed question.

It's kind of funny that fans get rawled up, including me, but until there is actually a financial problem, they wont be doing a damn thing. We can bitch about it and say how bad it is, but I guarentee you we aren't losing money if they haven't shite canned anyone yet.

It's going to get brought up when people go on and on about upholding ethics in the sport, yet froth at the mouth at the idea of paying players for their labor.

Okay, so back to my question. If Arkansas isn't paying the money for a top coach, what makes you think they will highly compensate players? You think the professors are going to be happy when students make more than them? Most of them cannot fathom how much universities spend on athletics to begin with. Will it eventually happen? Probably because god forbid these amateur student athletes understand why they are there in the first place.

I realize that my statement was hyperbolic. I was simply alluding to a very real mentality within our administration, and a certain segment of our fanbase. Not all are like this, but the ones that make the decisions truly feel this way. If you can't see that from the last 7-8 years then you arent paying attention (I know you do get the overall theme of what I am saying) the problem is we also have fans who have adopted this mentality, or naturally come with it. Then stroke the decision makers ego's by agreeing with them.

This weak mentality has now lead us to being the worst p5 team in the country. It isn't just chad that is unacceptable. It is the mentality that lead to him being hired over better coaches due to PR fears.

If we want any chance of ever being anything more than what we are currently. We have to rid ourselves of the culture/mentality that lead us down this path of destruction. It is time to start being cut throat, slimey, and pushing the envelope. Instead of being scared some arse hat on deadspin writing a not so flattering article just prior to us beating our opponents asses. then later those same writers sucking us off.
