I've said this numerous times and will say it again -- the key difference between our football program and others is that our big money donor cadre doesn't know jack shite about football.

I was listening to the talking heads today on the radio and it was more of the same. Going on and on about how bad our Defense was. How a change has to be made on that side of the football team.

It really is unbelievable. Our whole team has a proverbial cancer and it is coaching period. From top to bottom. I hate that Caldwell is caught up in this, but.....

I generally think there's no way Morris gets a year 3, but this is the one thing that gives me pause. We've been hearing this growing drumbeat lately about how terrible the defense is and how we might just catch gears if we replace Chavis. It's just like our media to eat it up hook, line and sinker and regurgitate accordingly like the useful idiots they are.

Yes, this defense is one of the most horrendous in my lifetime, but that completely buries the fact that the offense under Morris and Craddock has been such a terribly mismanaged shitshow with no rhythm, identity, consistency or tangible success.

Running Chavis out on a rail won't change anything about the fact that Morris and Craddock are about to start their 6th different QB in less than 2 full seasons here.

The reoccurring theme from Morris is "not my fault".

Not my fault Bert's players wouldn't buy in last year.

Not my fault chief's defense is allowing points on the board.

Not my fault this team can't win a sec game.

Meanwhile he's busy playing favorites, and when his job is on the line starts the rich kid to get his influential family in his corner.

High School. The UofA should force Chad to teach a few math classes for free to offset the income they are paying him. Just like in highschool.

our defense is shite but then again maybe having the thinnest part of the team on the field for most the game isn't a good idea.

Go watch Petrino's defenses under Willy Robinson to see how much a decent offense can aid an ailing and mediocre defense.

Our defense during those years looks dominant ("dominate" if you're on Hogville) compared to now.

The saying goes "the best defense is a good offense" for a reason. Chavis has had ZERO help from the other side of the ball, our offense has been anemic.

I honestly don't know if Chavis' defense has been improved or total shite.

People thinking we might catch a gear if we replace Chavis are idiots. This offense can't sustain drives. They either get chunk yardage or turn the ball over. Occasionally they'll move the ball a little bit, but never for an entire drive. Interception, fumble, or something else stalls their drives almost every damn time.

Is it John Chavis' fault we threw an interception on a fake punt on our own side of the 50?

Chad Morris is an idiot. Does Morris realize his team is getting dominated week in and week out on time of possession? The defense wasn't very good to begin with, but out asshats calling plays on the other side of the ball can't keep our defense off the fricking field.

I imagine he gets fired unless, as Rockiee suggested, he were to win this weekend and against Missouri as well. If he loses this weekend he should be fired immediately.

How bad is it when you have started 6 QBs in 2 years, have 4 total wins and are about to get beat by one of the QBs you chased off to bring in the Tejas boys? Neither of whom were worth a single frick.

My man.....

Chavis would be just fine with a HC that knows something about defense and of course an offense that can give our thin defense a little break from time to time.

Pair him with someone like Butch Davis (it would be awesome if he were 10 years younger) and you’d have a good shot at winning the division.

My dream team is:

Butch Davis HC
John Chavis DC
Kendal Briles OC

I’ll probably get filet’d for it but oh well.

Davis is a great builder. Chavis has the conference experience on the defensive side of the ball and Briles is great at his craft and can recruit Texas.

I’d even say George McDonald as WR coach (good Florida recruiter too).

But, if the rumors are true. Briles will be staying with Stoops in FLorida State...

In the meantime they are having discussions with both Norvell and Petrino. But not like you think. They are trying to get Norvell as our next head coach. But due to Mike's lack of SEC experience, they are offering to help Bobby renew his image by bringing him in as a quality control guy for the offense. No he will not be calling plays. But he will be helping to ensure that Mike's offense will work in the SEC. That is all. Merry Christmas.

Honest to goodness this actually sounds like an inbredible plan if true.

Your kryptonite has been coaches getting overwhelmed by the sec. With Bobby as an advisor, he would be able to navigate the pitfalls and tell Norvell, with utter respectability how to win here.

You also get an Arkansas guy who understands the program, filling that void that has been missing for too long.

It's still an iffy proposition with almost anyone, but damn it sure seals up some potential bad holes in tbe program.

Plus, Bobby's presence alone on tbe practice field would put the fear of God into tbe players and give them a much needed attitude change and killer mentality..

It's easy. It has been total shite all season. How many times have teams scored TD'S from the first or second to even fifth play of the game? That has NOTHING to do with shitty offense. It's not like the defense has been on the field for 3 full quarters and worn the hell out. It's not like it changes on the second, third, or fourth time they are on the field. No, they are sucking arse from kickoff to the final gun. If they held up for a half and then the wheels come off, then I could tie it allot more to shitty offense (which of course it is). But no the astoundingly bad defense is from the first damn play. That is horrid coaching, horrid game prep, and ZERO effort from the players.

Not making excuses for Chad, but IMHO the defense quit long ago.

That was one reason we gave ours up a few years ago. Bad product and poor experience when we did go, and lost money on resale for the games we didn't go to.

It was the epitome of a bad investment.
