That's what we get for coming up with something like Darkansas.

I thought the Darkansas thing was mocking the guy? Was it serious?

Idk if it started as something serious, but twitter definitely ran with it.

especially since our AD is against NIL

We're screwed no matter what. It's not going away Yurachek, and any lawsuit trying to regulate it gets thrown out of court. Either get with the program or get a new program to screw up.

It was so much easier to land guys in the portal after a winning year.

Yes, but the pricing model has increased dramatically as well!

I am beginning to lose interest in college football. It has become, not a point of pride... but just all about greed, even moreso than in the past. Never in my life would I have thought that your team would change year to year, based on hundreds of thousands of dollars paid to some individual players. So, while the rest of us sad saps are paying out the wazoo to send our kids to get a decent education... this is what we have to cheer for. Rental players.

They will no longer be called student athletes by me... Criticism is now fair game! Just like coordinators, and assistants... Call em out!

Somebody on the radio the other day said a good LB could fetch 250k if they went into the Portal.

Pure stupidity.

I wonder if KJ not going to the portal yet has to do with him getting too comfortable here. That big money and pampering has ruined many athletes and this season he seemed to quit caring altogether, especially at the home games.

And the olinemen can’t be very happy about the money discrepancy between them some other players. This probably affects alot of teams.

There needs to be a flat rate of pay across all players for all teams.

It would be difficult to block for a millionaire showboating in his corvette while I’m making minimum wage and my biggest perk is all you can eat barbecue.

I’ve lost a ton of interest in college sports, particularly football, for that very reason.

The economics of college sports are completely and totally fricked.

Coaches basically opt out of their contracts after one good year but are financially unfireable thereafter (which makes zero sense).

Players and teams have zero cap on what they can pay or make, leading to free agency bidding wars every year, which incentivizes bad behavior.

Players have the ability to transfer to the highest bidder with zero restriction. Team turnover is at an all time high, and sizeable chunks of rosters are new each season, which doesn't bode well for locker room culture. Hell, I don't even know the basketball team yet. As soon as I gain some familiarity, season will be over.

I never in a million years thought I'd start liking the NFL more than college, but here we are. I just can't get invested in a sport with zero rules or governance. There's a reason why a guy like Nick Saban hates the shite out of what college football has become.

Not to mention the fact that it's basically rendered football's postseason completely moot with opt outs.

Most of that made college football special is gone, sadly. NIL. Piped in music. Opt outs. Playoffs. Traditions being tossed away. Conference realignment. There's a lot of factors
