Some folks refuse to be happy or optimistic about anything. Tough way to go through life.

And what else is new?

It’s okay to not have the same exact opinion or state/express things how other people “want” to hear it and instead speak how one truly feels.

You have a vivid imagination... You'd bet ANYTHING?

At least my left nut.

quote:

He looked like Pittman, I saw a few times in the broadcast where he was laughing, smiling... I guess we look for differnt things. Plus he presser today was Great.

You could be totally right on this as I feel that everyone picks up on different things and while he has an infectious smile, he tends to have more rbf than he gets credit for but may just be thinking.

You seem to use the "cuck" thing fairly often... if I remember correctly. Dude!

I can change it to “Bigger Dicked” or any number of more desirable synonyms or phrases.

But seriously, I do really agree on the fact that this is something that is really exciting, but I’m riding this out and frankly don’t necessarily want Pittman to suck - winning more(if we can do it next year) will cure everything and I think that our fan base has a lot of PTSD and as much as I may personally “feel” that Pittman should have been canned, IMO this was a brilliant win no matter what and nothing else would have excited people. And going back to the Duke game last night - we all know, but the crowd was LIT and people are enjoying themselves and that’s nice to see and feel as a fan.

The way Bobby got this job is because he isnt in a position to hire or fire anybody. He's just an assistant. Give up on the HC pipe dreams.

That’s not true at all. I’m not going to dig through my posts to show when I’ve been happy, complimentary, or whatever warm and fuzzy that you feel like you need to see for me to make you more comfortable on a sports forum. I’m admittedly highly critical of our athletic department because we have shot ourselves in the foot almost every way possible over the years in fb and bb(in addition to just being plain unlucky sometimes) and for how much money we spend in an overall poor as heck state with horrible education, etc. without even seeing positive long-term forward progress. I’ll always love and support the Razorbacks but I don’t have to like everything.

Pittman's statement during a interview today..

""It was wonderful," Pittman said. "You had the “BMFP” shirts made. Coach (Petrino) asked one of the guys ‘what does that stand for?’ And we were having trouble figuring that out. Hell, it was my suggestion to go over to the Duke game. I want to show him off, too, now. I’m proud that he came here."

Petrino's response...

""It was exciting. Yeah, I felt good about it," Petrino said. "Again, I have to say it’s a credit to Sam, to be able to bring me there and allow that to go on. I think it’s just a credit to him. You can see the confidence that he has in himself, as a man, and how much he loves the university and wants to do what he believes is best for us to go forward to win. It’s a real credit to him."

Pittman said our offense looked great before this season started. Like most people who have to deal with politics he says a lot of things that may or may not be true that he has to say.

Like most politicians wish they could be, he is personable, everyone would have a cole beer with Ole Sam.

Nutt was at first the same way, but his ego ruined it.

Petrino was a respectable dick head who won, but his ego sent it crashing down here.

Combine massive ego with arrogance and you'll find the Bert and Chaggy tier.

Ergo do you think that’s where we’re headed? Honestly?

Earlier this month, Sam was displaying arrogance and a huge ego.

Now? Humility.

Guess we will see, I don't think anyone can say petrino was forced on him with the hoops required to jump thru to hire him.

Bottom line, I’m excited that we have an OC that most are excited about and we can now focus on recruiting and retooling for next year and we’ve had a pretty big 3 days that’s put us back on the front pages and our programs needed a shite in the arm like that. I hope we can build positive momentum and have something to show for it next year(and no, not saying I expect double-digit wins or anything - just want to see us play to our full potential on the field and hopefully find a way to make a bowl and not have weird shenanigans or get snake bit).

I see a perfect marriage honestly. Petrino is NOT a people person. BUt he is an offensive football junkie.

If he can just stay in the bowels of the football center devising plays, working on his players, developing, chewing azz... All while Pittman gladhands, smiles, directs the program from afar..

Yeah buddy! It may be perfect... But then again, I look for the positives more often than not.

Have seen Sam do that (ego/arrogance - horrible in some of those pressers and in-game decision-making) and I found it extra unbecoming because I want to like him but there’s just something that gives me the used-car salesman vibe after the sexton thing. I think this was too seamless and efficiently ironed out for Pittman to have initiated the hire. However, maybe he is truly ecstatic. It would be nice if he and Bobby could have a relationship like Odom as Petrino is a rocket scientist compared to Sam in X’s and O’s but I don’t see that happening. Who knows. Definitely left-field fun and just happy to have the position filled the way things have been going lately, lol.

I’m not on the positive or negative train in terms of if I think we’ll “succeed” due to Petrino coming on the level that we’d like to but if it works all is well and we definitely pulled one over on everyone. I don’t think we’re lose to UNT Chaggie bad at all in terms of talent, but we did finally hit rock bottom and just couldn’t win as a team and I think we’ll be better enough next year for it to show or the wheels will have totally come off and that, to me, could happen for any number of reasons(some bc of coaching, some not). Maybe I’m just barely secretly non-committal/cautiously positive.

Yep. I was done. I was totally indifferent towards Razorback football and convinced myself that was fine.
All hope was gone.

But now we're back bitches!!!!!!!!

It is the idea situation with petrino focusing on the offense and someone else focusing on recruiting, roster management, media relations, fundraising, etc.

Then what’s the point of paying Sam HC money? It’s one thing for Bobby to run the offense but ultimately whose team is it? Everything you listed for Sam is support and could be done by football staff.

Also curious how much money Bobby will make and what happens when someone offers him more money than what OC pays? I know he’s happy to be back and he loves it, but everyone here would take the jump in pay from OC to HC.

I guess this can be said for most head coaches who don’t call their on offensive plays. Fire all of them.
