Really need this one tonight with Knight on the bump. Have to keep pace with the rest of the teams at the top of the league standings.
We really needed that 3rd game last weekend and 2nd win. We would be 16-9 right now and just a half game back if not for Tennessee trying to make the SEC Tourney.

If its anything like previous Sunday games half the bullpen. Not having that third weekend pitcher in the rotation has killed us this year.

It worked. Taccolini and Reindl combo only allow a solo HR for the Vandy scoring.

Shaddy has gotten so much better defensively at 2B over the course of the season. Good to see.

I know this is the baseball thread but shout out to coach Deifel and the softball team.
Made the NCAA tournament for the seventh time and first since 2013.
The program has been mediocre to bad for too long, especially recent years.
In her first season (2016), they went 17-39 overall and 1-23 in the SEC. Mike Larabee resigned following the 2015 season after posting 16-37 and 1-23 in the SEC in year six.
Larabee posted an overall record of 149-181, including a 38-114 record in SEC games and making two appearances in the NCAA Tournament.
Courtney Deifel - Year 2: 31-22 overall; 7-17 in the SEC.
Few run ruled games while competing against the best competition and most talented league.

One thing this team was way better at avoiding than past teams was dropping BS games in the midweek. Once SEC play started they didn't drop a single game to an OOC opponent. Looks good on the record come selection day despite the log jam in the conference standings.

Current Tourney Seeding
1. Florida
2. LSU(1 game back of 1st)
3. Kentucky(1 game back of 1st)
4. State(2 games back of 1st)
5. Arkansas(1/2 game back of 4th)
6. aTm(2 games back of 4th)
7. Auburn
8. Vandy
9. Ole Miss
10. South Carolina
11. Missouri
12. Georgia
We sit just a 1/2 game back of State for the 4th seed, which is pretty important. To get a top 4 spot, we need either to sweep aTm and have State go 2-1 over the weekend...OR win 2/3 at aTm and have LSU win 2/3 at State or LSU sweep. If LSU sweeps, Arkansas can win just 1/3. The only way Arkansas is not in the top 4 with State losing the series to LSU is if Arkansas gets swept at aTm.
Now, if Arkansas sweeps at aTm and finishes 19-10, LSU would need to win the series for us not to catch them as well.
Still a lot of "IF's" that can play out in the race in the West. There is basically no way Arkansas can win the overall SEC title.
Having said all that, this is a heck of a turn around for DVH and the program from a year ago.
