Announcers just said that before the CJ TD. Just them speaking off the cuff or is Morris calling plays now as was speculated on 247?

I'm not even sure anymore if play calling or execution of the called play was the problem

Noticed several times he was studying a huge play card. He might not be calling the plays but he’s at least making suggestions.

The plays seemed to get called quicker this week. There was even some drives with “tempo”.

Thought personnel groupings were better too. When the game was on the line the skill players were: Boyd, ogrady, Burks, woods and Knox. That’s the way it should be on every important play. There’s a huge drop off when any of those guys leave the field.

This group - plus Starkel - gives me flashbacks to the Petrino skill players and Mallett. They all kinda fit the same mold as their equivalents back in the day, down to Starkel/Mallett being transfers

Whether KJ is ready or not they're gonna light it up next year

It was both.

Hicks didn't have a good showing in either outing, and offensive playcalling was very poor against PSU and Ole Miss. We seemed to have no rhythm or strategy to the offense.

Both execution and playcalling were better yesterday. Starkel definitely gives our offense a spark. I'm not booking tickets to the Heisman ceremony just yet -- he missed some wide open throws and left points on the field, but I liked the fact he owned up to it in the post game interview and said he had things he had to shore up. Additionally, the offensive playcalling was *much* improved, especially in the first and fourth quarters. I'd wager that Morris either had a heavy hand in it or took over playcalling duties outright from Craddock.

That is almost a definite given the evidence. I think it's possible he may have even been testing Craddock against his own or their combined ability, to see what's actually possible with this offense

The offense was more aggressive taking shots down field, I guess they can blame Hick's weak arm for this, but really is there any reason for Craddock not to be the "OC apprentice" like the other offensive gurus we've had here or around the country? Study the film, prepare the game plan, develop the play sheet, call down what the defense is doing from the box, let Chad call the plays.
