One play doesn’t explain Missouri putting up more fricking points against us than they did against Vandy.

We repeatedly haven’t won the recruiting battles for elite defenders. Combine that with shite coaching and shite culture the last few years and this is where we’re at.

Time for Pittman to show he can recruit his way out of it, and time for Yurachek and boosters to show they’re committed to making it happen.

Or not... and just cash the SEC check as usual. Build some more facilities.

I don't know if we will ever see that day because history just keeps repeating itself.

We always have an excuse to fold. No one ever wants to step up.

Same poorly coached, soft arse team. Looked just like Bert.

We haven’t made a defensive adjustment since Ole Miss.

It isn't Sam's fault that he got the short end of the stick inheriting this team.

Sam is a lot better than we have before but I'm not ready to get on board just yet.

I don’t know about that.... I don’t know if that was poor coaching as much as want-to only takes you so far.

Question - how many of our defensive recruits are going to move the talent needle next year?

Recruit like you fricking mean it and you’re willing to win or at least be a competitive threat for a change.
There are only so many Burks who are Razorbacks no matter what.

I agree I'm so tired of this bullshite year after year after year. 30 years and nothing to show for it.

We either DEMAND a winning program or we will just accept it as losers and get a check from the SEC for doing nothing.

Pittman is the right guy to stabilize the program. I think he’s going to be a high floor low ceiling type of coach.

How could he not when the expectation isn’t even to beat Mizzou?

He will be a 6-6 or 7-5 coach which is a lot better but he wasn't intended to get us over the hump.

It seems like defense has been regressing for a while now. Are they just tired or what?

Not trolling, but what does this really mean? Being serious.

In reality, demanding a winning program is really in the hands of a fairly small collective - big money boosters, the BoT and ultimately the administration. Beyond that, it's just average Joe fans doing a version of Michael Scott loudly declaring bankruptcy.

My post history on here is littered with my epistle about how I think our boosters don't care about winning nearly as much as they care about access and input. They showed that during the Nutt era, when they didn't stand up for Petrino, during the coup against Long after which they got played hard by Malzahn, and finally when we wound up with Chad Morris.

So yeah, I double dog demand a winning program, but ultimately it's not up to me...at least until I make my first billion.

That is a good question. But it is a combination of people from just a season ticket holder to a large booster that want to make a change. Yes ultimately the powers will have to make that decision but fan input does help and we just didn't have enough of it for many years.

I was a season ticket holder for almost 20 years but after the Missouri game in 2016, I was very angry and Jeff Long made some stupid comments a bout the game on twitter. Some hog fans said that Bert should be fired. But Long danced around the questions and instead added more fuel to the fire.

Then it happened again with the Virginia Tech game. But I decided after so many years that I would drop my season tickets. I was so tired of flushing thousands of dollars worth of my money in a toliet. I decided that I would never again buy season tickets until the University of Arkansas decided to take football more seriously.

I still go to the games but the Sam Pittman hire got me warmed up to the idea of buying season tickets. But I'm not ready yet because I'm still skeptical.

I mean simply demanding something happens doesn’t automatically make it happen. Tennessee and Nebraska fans have been demanding they get back to their 90’s level for years and the Huskers hired the hottest coaching name on the market and they still suck. Texas fans regurgitate new coaches every 3 years now and fire people like crazy to get what they want and it doesn’t work.

All of that doesn’t make the players tackle or block any better on the field. Unless we start funneling money to recruits we’re always going to be a bipolar program.

Yes but all it takes is for them to put a little more effort and make better hires. All three of those schools have not. Research and evualuation is very important to hiring and that individual being a good fit at the school.

Bert was a good hire on paper but he was a terrible fit here. He was an alcoholic and just never had the fire to be successful.

Chad was a very lazy hire. He was in over his head here but he should never been hired in the first place.

We should expect the people at the top to make competent hires but they have not in football for 30 years.

30 Years is a long time and enough evidence of the incompetence and lack of care at the top. We have no excuse of why our football teams have been so bad and the same with basketball.
