These players tweeting this crap are a joke.

Really? They're just going to jump ship on the guy that recruited them etc.

Mike is a pretty likeable guy, I don't think anyone has ever had any real beef with him personally.

You don't have to cry on Twitter to show support for someone. It's a negative side-effect of the current culture.

Program culture or athlete/twitter culture in general?

I don't think this is unique to us or our program.

There's a lot of shite head fans tweeting out there too.

A little bit of both. Mostly just in general but I do think our players have been more active than most. Mostly because there's been more to bitch at/cry about.

I know the Twitter machine is the butthole of the internet, but if you love your coach so much maybe make your free throws, or not bale on him early, or box out and rebound

Sampson is a 3x Big12 Champ and 2x Coach of the Year. He'll do please.

Maybe I’m being arrogant but I don’t see any realistic shot of them getting Sampson. I only see him leaving for NBA job.

Lol. UH is a better job than Arkansas. Arkansas? Really? Lmfao.

quote:

Arkansas has a short leash, they just fired a coach that went to 3 of the last 5 NCAA’s , and the year they fired him ,he took them to the NIT (this year)…

there is no leash in houston…and in houston his son is head coach in waiting…can hires his entire extended family for all we care

arkansas is a hard place to win in, in todays SEC, and arkansas recuriting ground (note houston has more 4stars than arkansas)…

sampson has 5/6 years left he isnt risking that for arkansas…
im legitimately more worried that they target kellen

quote:

This isn’t the cartel like it is in football. Why in the world would a decent coach choose to coach at a small town in a small state when the money is comprable and chance to win a national championship is probably greater in Houston Texas!

I didn’t even mention the top Houston recruits we are going to be able to land now that we are back on the College Basketball Map!

quote:

These motherFers have no respect for us “Cougar High” but they sure have no problem with stealing our coaches! Why all of these so-called “Power5 schools” always want to copy what we do if they think we’re beneath them?

quote:

Has Arkansas been any good since the Eddie Sutton days?

quote:

Sampson leaving for Arkansas wouldn’t make sense to me, provided the money is equal. Sampson just spent a few years building this program back up–why would he leave when he’s only now getting to reap the benefits of the culture he’s built? Arkansas wouldn’t provide him with opportunities that he doesn’t already get here. I just don’t see it.

They are correct in the amount of talent in the Houston Metro Area. They are incorrect in thinking this talent grows up dreaming of attending cougar high.

They are another Clyde Drexler away from irrelevancy.
