Member when FSU wanted to fire Norvell like the past two years before this year? What if that was Herman at Texas? He was just thrown in the wrong spot?

Man, we should've hired Norvell when we had the chance. Yet another case of the one who got away...

But yes, although Herman was weird personally Texas didn't give him nearly enough time. I don't think that fanbase was willing to come to terms with the fact that they had fallen a long way down the ladder and weren't willing to have the patience to be rebuilt back over a handful of years. They expect success right away or nothing.

Herman had them on the upswing but they got impatient after a winning season. I think they realized their mistake and that's why Sark has had a little longer leash, although after a couple disappointing seasons there were already grumbles. Now it looks like their patience is paying off, although they're not quite to the elite level yet.

In short, Herman would be a great hire for Arkansas. He would just need time and our fanbase is better at that than Texas, but not by a ton.

6-6 gets you fired at Texas. It would take 3 years or more of finishing 6-6 with nothing better to get fired at Arkansas

See Pittman

He's gonna be the HC next season with 5 wins

It doesn't take much at Arkansas to retain your job.

you are wonderful at keeping the negativity going bro.

He also got us the first 9 win season since 2011...

he has also recruited a tad bit better and used the portal well on Def.

and he is also owed 16 Mill if we fire him, so yes... He will be the coach next season!

I'm a realist Rev.
If you can say with a straight face that Arkansas is in it to win it, I can't help your fandom.

I'm I happy they won, absolutely.

Florida makes that FG and we're toast.

But to think that Pittman will ever win the SEC championship, I'm not in that camp.
Arkansas football just continues to kick the can down the road.

Meanwhile I'll enjoy Basketball, Baseball and Soccer.

technically it was chad who got him here. He was a sophomore when Pittman took over

I didn't think that was relevant in the post but thanks for pointing that out.

My point was, no way Pittman wins 9 without Treylon.

6-6 gets you fired at Texas

Except he didn't, at least not after his initial season.

I've said this before, but there's this weird inaccurate narrative that Herman was bad at Texas.

Herman's season by season records at Texas:
7-6
10-4
8-5
7-3

Never lost a bowl game, and is still the last coach to beat Kirby Smart in a bowl game.

I am a bit of an anomaly I suppose. Because I am usually a glass half full type of guy... However I definitely am now with regards to our hires.

Who would we hire that would be able to do that at Arkansas with our NIL, Assistant pay, Recruiting situations, in the SEC?

Petrino didn't, Nutt was during an entirely different SEC at that time.

I again believe we would just do what we have been doing over and over again. Sure, a few more wins here and there but winning the SEC? nahh!

ALthough it is very much down this season. I get you know these things... Your very knowledgeable about our football program!

Better question I think is, how much money are we willing to pay?

If history tells us anything, the outlook isn't good.
