I think it was going to be Gus, until he beat Bama and Georgia. Then he got paid, and some security from Auburn.

I think it's pretty much been Norvell's to lose since then, or maybe Morris', since there was so little chatter about him. I think his interest in the Arkansas job got real when Jimbo was hired.

I think there may have been interest from Kiffin also, until Jimbo got hired.

At this point, I think the money is going to talk. If Morris is Jerry's guy it will probably be him. If some other big money is behind Norvell, it will be Norvell.

I caught quite a bit of shite for saying it a few weeks ago, but the sheer numbers of players in this circus has made things more difficult. I think we may find out the Jimbo to aTm/Florida State job opening up event, had some repercussions for us.

Seems like the Ark sports "media" has gone full blown Morris too.

Well when the A&M job closed up, and Morris won't get a sniff at that for several years with the contract they laid on Jimbo, suddenly Arkansas became priority one for him. For Kiffin he was probably very interested in the job but now FSU is hanging in the breeze and he probably wants to get a firm no from them before he looks at anyone else.

I'd say its a two horse race between Morris and Norvell and it comes down to who has the better backers at this point.

One also has to wonder about the Norvell gambling rumors. If true he will be out. I have always just assumed they were put out there to keep people away while we waited on Gus

That and Ole Miss trying to save face when he laughed at their offer.

I agree with Barry Switzer. Leach would be my choice.

Norvell would be my second choice. Do not want Kiffin or Morris.

I would take Kiffin so quick my head would spin.

I would purchase my season tix the min he was hired, pay my donation and up them both.

I would then begin twittering with Kiff immediately, I would also send him some names to keep in touch with while in Arkansas... and offer to take him fishing with his kids when they are in town.

I would then proceed to build an effigy of Kiffin in my man cave with hog memorabilia laying around it and then and only then.. Sit down with a drink and back in the glory!

I wish I felt the same. I'd celebrate with you.

Monte was a damn good coach when he was at Arkansas and elsewhere.

And I do respect your opinion. I'm just not a big fan of his son. Now if he gets hired, I may come around.
