this is all so sad. you sound like a pussy. You're basically saying it's too much of a hassle for us to go out and get a coach who's actually decent and can win ball games and we should just be satisfied with a 6 or 7 win football program

Hasn't you whole argument been that Leech is so great because he will have us at 8 wins every season?

What's the difference between 7 and 8 wins, you're still going to the same group of shitty bowl games.

I guarantee you Leach would never go winless in conference play. Know how I know? Sheer odds. No coach other than this frickin guy has ever managed it before.

Because he is fricking terrible.

So yeah, Leach would be an improvement. Not that I want Leach, mind you, but I know for a certain fact he would be better than numbnuts up there.

I'm saying our absolute worst year with leach would be 8 wins. That's the ceiling for bert.

It's been one decent season out of 5, and we are in a 3 year slide. There's no legitimate reason to keep Bielema at this point. We can take a flyer on another coach, and not really see a big drop in performance, regardless of how good the new coach is. At least there will be a chance for improvement.

Are you serious Clark?

Long took a flyer on his last 2 hires, although I'll give him a pass on the "clown show" in April.

Although I thought the BB hire was safe, it wasn't a smart one. If you think about the failure that this hire has been, you'll understand it.

Bert had no connection to the south, he brought his ground and pound offense to beat the likes of LSU, Bama, Auburn etc...

He's hired multiple assistants and still can't figure it out.

It's a failed hire on a flyer coach, plain and simple.

Yup, go take a flyer on Skip Holtz etc...
See how that works out.

God forbid we end up with Skip Holtz, but how much worse than Bielema can he be? I mean would it really be a problem for you if Bama and Auburn beat us by 35, we find a way to lose to aTm, lose to at least one ooc, and LSU to boot? That's what's happening this year. How much worse can it get? And what does it say about the program if that's acceptable in year 5?

Long has to pull the trigger, if only to put Enos or Rhodes in charge on an interim basis.

I disagree that Bielema was any kind of flyer coach hire. He was a very established coach in a P5 conference, playing their version of the same style of football that has dominated the SEC and therefore college football.

And how has that worked out at Arkansas?

You want to take a flyer, Holtz and Norvell fit that bill.

He is the only HC not to succeed at USF, so yeah it could get worse.

Because?

There is no advantage to firing a HC mid-season and naming an interim, in fact most times it is counter-productive.

That will start to change with the early signing period.

You'll begin to see coaches being canned mid season in an effort to keep recruiting classes together.

Probably bad terminology. I'm saying Bielema can't be HC next year. I don't think this is a great year to land the best coaches available, but I would just as soon find a young, fired up defensive guy, and let him take his lumps as he rebuilds the program.

Let's go get another John L. ?

Why can't he be?

New stadium upgrades, 6-6 or 7-5 at the end of the year.

As much as ya'll want him fired and a new regime brought in, it ain't happening unless he resigns.

Let's go Ofer in the west in year 1 with a new coach, like Bert did.

How much different is that, than winning 1-2 in the west in year 5? Can you really say you suck any less? We have a coach that we know can't cut it. How can we do worse by hiring a coach that we don't know that about?

0-8

13 consecutive SEC losses

Toledo and Texas Tech

56-3 and 52-20

Back to back blown leads to Mizzou and Virginia Tech

11-26 conference record

Likely decreasing win totals for 2 consecutive years.

LOL at you trying to trot out the "one bad year" argument.
