Win or lose. If auburn wins do we hold off until SECCG or move on immediately? A loss could make shite interesting but wondering if it will be a quick process. My fear is fricking around with Gus and missing out on other candidates if he says no.

I would imagine we move quickly. Steinmetz and Peoples, like I've said before, don't seem the type to tiptoe around something. I imagine they will make an offer to the leading candidate as soon as possible. If for no other reason then to get a yes or no so they can move onto other choices.

The worst thing that can happen to us now would be a drawn out search committee that farts around until all of our top targets are off the board and we start having to look at the Skip Holtzs of the world.

I’m not in the know whatsoever, but we should move on from Gus if Auburn wins today.

He’d presumably win the SECCG — since they obliterated Georgia two weeks ago — and would likely be in the CFP. We can’t dick around until January on the off chance that he would take our job, because that would be a recipe for disaster.

I’m guessing that this is the plan:
-Plan A: Auburn loses, Gus accepts our job
-Plan B: Auburn wins, we hire Norvell

The game today has no bearing in Gus, or other candidates will all have games next weekend.

If he is offered the job, it won't be we wait around until after the cfp and let him see how he does there, it will be take it now or we move on past you.
