We still have some glaring issues on offense, with no insult intended to Florida we probably would have blown them out in this one but for a ton of dumb penalties and mistakes. We still tend to be an undisciplined team.

Yet, when we needed it, for the first time this season, our offense played clutch.

When our defense started to get worn down in the 4th, and they were put in some tough spots today, I was certain we were screwed. But Guiton dialed up the right plays and gave KJ free reign to do what KJ does best... which is rumble ahead on broken plays and make something happen.

I'm not saying extend everyone for another decade, but Guiton's willingness to be a little more freewheeling (and take some shots down field) seems to have paid off for us.

I think the success today with the offense pissed me off more than what we saw under Enos. We would probably be 6-3 or 7-2 right now if we had just kept some variation of this offense as opposed to do a complete 180 to Enos’ system. That’s 100% on Pittman.

Loved what I saw with Guiton though and if he continues to have success over the next three games then I assume we see one more year with Sam with KG getting the OC job full time.

If you haven’t seen the video of KG and KJ celebrating after the game, you should. Really emotional to see how much this meant to them both.

I said,”we’d be 5-3 or 6-2 if we had this offense all season with KG calling plays,” when talking to my dad earlier about the game. So close enough

Ditto.

It looked like Guiton almost entirely scrapped the Enos system and went back to the scheme we’ve been running the last few years. More lateral gaps runs, one read passes, RPOs, and putting KJ in positions to be successful as opposed to forcing him into a read progression heavy system that he’s ill-suited for.

I’m happy we won, but this makes the Enos hire all the more glaring of a knock on Pittman for making it in the first place.

Yep. That’s what frustrates me so much. First game back in the offense and Rocket pops for 100 likes it not big thing.

This. This win is giving me very mixed emotions.

I'm happy we won and even more happy for the players to finally get that monkey off their backs. As tough as this season has been for us as fans, its 10x tougher as a competitive player to keep getting so close and coming up short.

But I'm left with that nagging feeling that all of us (other than hawgfaninnc) are having, which is that we could have at least 3 - if not 4 - more wins right now with even a SLIGHTLY competent offense that we saw today.

We'd probably still have lost to aTm, Bama, and LSU, but even those games were winnable with a slightly better offense than we fielded.

The "what ifs" from this season will be the worst I can remember in a long time. The West is down and we've been in every game even with an anemic offense, I can't help but imagine where we'd be right now with one of our better offenses from the recent past and this defense.

I get what everyone is saying... But I also wonder when you stop thinking about the past mistakes and take a different road, rather than playing "what if" all of the time.

Yes, it took too long to fire enos, yes... he shouldn't have been hired to begin with, yes ... we should have kept Briles, yes... We are now better. But... We won man! We won in Florida.

Florida beat Tenner man! It is hard to win in the Swamp for sure.

I again, have decided to be a glass half full guy. I loved how in the conference today Pittman basically said...Paraphrased.

'We have talent, great players... We have struggled with playcalling, and coaching including me" .

If that admission pisses you off, fine.. .But to me hopefully it is a good lesson and we keep moving forward! WPS!

Should a coach never make an offensive philosophy change?
Should a coach not expect his players be able to adapt?
Should an offensive coordinator not be allowed time to work the kinks out?

Our fans were happy Bryers left and Enos envy was back in style not that long ago. But now it’s Pittman’s fault for not predicting the future correctly

When you hire a half assed coordinator who got fired from miami in less than a year, it doesn't take Miss Cleo to figure out how it'll go

I was thrilled with the hire... because i remembered the Allen bros and his plays were incredible in that style of offense.

I also thought KJ would be able to adapt, and that we had a good oline with Pitt being here.

I shouldn't have thought!

Fans will justify any and every hire as an upgrade. It’s what fans do across every sport.

and nobody is upset with that! At least not anyone who actually wants to see the hogs succeed. It’s just frustrating thinking what could’ve been if we’d had a coordinator better suited to our team for this entire season. That’s all people are pointing out and it’s okay to be bummed about that

How long is it ok to be bummed about that? Asking for a friend!

I almost didn't marry my gorgeous wife, because... What if Jessica Alba became available...

I almost didn't take my last job, because ... What if I won the Lottery

Yep, we almost hired Guyton as OC at the beginning of the season right? No... Well, we almost kept Briles with his dancing skirt showing, right? No...

But get this... I did turn down Jessica!

Idk probably a few hours? Damn dude why do you care that a few guys point out the glaringly obvious fact that Sam fricked up by hiring a guy ill suited for the personnel we had?

Because it has been a constant for weeks now. And definitely poured on last week when NObody thought we had a chance today.

I am perplexed as to why so many folks want to harp continually on the negative and not move along to the positive aspects as well.

It makes for a miserable existence. Look at the bright side, we could have had Morris as OC...

In all seriousness, I can't control what others post. But I sure would like folks to enjoy their blessings a bit more. Today was fun for me. I begrudgingly began the Game thread and it turned out being a blast! and emotional one, but a blast still. Have a great night friend. I will leave ya alone now!
