Probably because the program has found ways to drum up hype in every single offseason save a couple within the last decade. That hasn't changed the fact one bit that we're only barely better than Vandy in that timespan despite MUCH more support.

This is not a problem of the fanbase's creation. Talk is cheap and at some point stops working altogether. Best way to get people to stop talking about the bumbling idiot on gameday is to stop being a bumbling idiot on gameday. Until then people are gonna talk.

I just think we've hit the point in general where really the only thing that will help belief and morale is wins. We've already seen recruiting momentum squandered by this regime once. Plus you've got the added cynicism of how quickly these recruiting wins can turn into transfer losses.

Ultimately you're right. It's obviously better to be winning these recruiting battles than not, but I just don't think that's going to improve many moods until we start ending games with more points than the other team more frequently.

It just amazes me that the recruits/nil/transfers haven't jumped from the ship like many of the fans have.

The jimmys and joes seem to be paying attention overall... Just have to have the coaching/development and game plan to happen. Hopefully it comes together. I imagine a slow start with a gelling mid season and knocking off someonewe shouldn't with perhaps 7 wins... Not great, but heading there with Petrino having signed a 3 year contract with a non compete in the SEC. We will see man!
