Clemson now has 2 national titles, post-integration.

1981 and this year.

Danny fricking Ford coached them to a national title.

Our last team that finished with one loss was 1977. Holtz's first season.

Exactly why I think they were more likely than us to win a championship and why I don't know if we ever will.

You may be right about 15 being our ceiling but with the right coach and a few things falling our way I think we could push for a conference title if we had 2 or 3 classes between ranks 18 and 13

I think the other part is an inability to get our top talent ready to be a major early impact. Our juco guys almost never work out year 1 so they're always at best a 1 year player.

Agreed.

I remember back in 2013 Bert had a pretty good JUCO haul with John McClure, Myke Tavarres, and Spaight, all three of whom were JUCO All Americans. McClure and Tavarres never saw the field and busted out, and Spaight wasn't ready to play until his second year on campus. If all three of those guys had been day 1 ready, we probably wouldn't have been starting freshmen on the offensive line or trotting out the likes of Austin Jones, Price Holmes and a freshman Brooks Ellis at linebacker that year.

Our playbook is incredibly complex or the kids are extra stupid based on the every year posts of kids who don't see the field but are high caliber athletwz. Since our team GPA is through the roof I don't think they're stupid

If that's really the case then that's on the coaches too, because there's no reason to have a play book so difficult to understand that multiple players can't understand it, especially when some are your best players.
