You are hysterically wrong here.

We could have ten times the police budget and a cop on every corner and something like this would happen.

Unless you are willing to go full on police state and that isn't so wonderful.

I get it, some of y'all don't like the current Fayetteville administration's liberal policies. But if you think a more conservative administration would have avoided this than you are almost as crazy as the guy that pulled the trigger.

The only way this could have been avoided is if someone had let this yahoo become a cop. In which case when he flipped his lid it would have been one of us that got shot.

No Lioneld could not have prevented yesterday. But he can most definitely prevent some of the rising violence in Fayetteville which his policies have not done.

That is something we need to work on but I am afraid it is going to keep happening. NW Arkansas isn't its own little secure corner of the world anymore. We have people pouring in every day and while 99.9% of them are great folks... you only need a few bad apples.

I don’t like Lioneld as he’s not made the place better. I don’t like Lioneld as he’s handcuffed some people in his new initiatives.

As a person I like Lioneld. I just can’t get past all he is is a Physical Plant worker who complains.

My initial post was more a commentary based on him not doing his elected job to make the palace safer.

The new guard while helping the city has crippled it also. It’s inexcusable for the High School to still be where it’s at or not have 2 of them.

Lioneld is a shitbird mayor for sure.

He's uneducated. He's naive as frick. He doesn't even have the educational attainment required to be a kindgergarten teacher.

In short, he's a liberal dumbfrick, and his naivety is damaging this city. But, he's not responsible for what happened last night.

Thankfully he was pumped full of lead before he could drive thru the square shooting up people looking at Christmas lights.

Like it or not, NWA has reached that "hype phase" of metro notoriety where people have started moving here with no plan or career plan, just because they hear about how great it can be to live here.

It's already been this way for a decade. Everyone and their brother who can't find good work in their small towns, move to NWA. One of my old roommates literaly had half his graduating class from Helena come up and live in Fayetteville the job market is so shite down there. Him and 2 other people were actually attending the university. The rest were just getting jobs as movers, factory workers, landscaping, drafting, etc. A lot of these kids options are, stay in your small town and be broke with no job/shite job or move to NWA and find a $10-$12+ an hour job in less than 2 days.

And we've reached the saturation point in a lot of places. Traffic is a nightmare any time of day because we simply don't have enough roads for everyone. Highway 265 is a pretty good alternate north/south route, but it's full of lights so you're constantly stopping and going until you get past Springdale. Walton Blvd. in Bentonville is completely insane all the time.

I wish we could level out a little bit, but people just keep moving here and the growth isn't showing any signs of slowing.

God damn right.

I won't take shots at his educational situation. But his policies have absolutely been pivotal in bringing more and more voluntarily "homeless" people to Fayetteville.

If something isn't done to stem this tide, the Cultural Arts corridor will be a beautiful space filled with needles and public defecation.

Lioneld is an anti-business chump and he's watched Bentonville and soon Rogers overtake Fayetteville from an overall momentum standpoint.

Fayetteville will always have UAF but the high school situation is a complete disaster ontop of the homeless BS and lack of business growth.

If I ever move back, I'll likely live in Bentonville which I'd have rather died than said 10 years ago.

Changes nothing. Was not directed at you personally.

Just the same you could have not feed it, or went back to what the thread was about. But of course it's not your fault.

Both. Lioneld is both formally uneducated, and incredibly naive as a person, with limited life experience.

I heard that the first time he ever traveled in an airplane was after he was elected mayor. That might not be true, but it came from a pretty reliable source.

That's nothing to be ashamed of, but not the kind of resume I'm looking for in a mayor of Arkansas' third (soon to be 2nd) largest city.

Stoplight capital of the world. Better off in the Rog or Springdale Harbor area.
