Lord I hope now.
There is a problem with this situation that most folks at Auburn cant comprehend. And it is understandable.
Gus had/has a following of folks (acolytes) if you will that absolute go to bat for GM in any situation. A kind of cult following that began most likely at the huge church...
They would root for Gus against the razorbacks in almost any situation. The amount of pull back from the fan base would make HDN's last 2 seasons pale in comparison if GM came here and was seemingly mediocre after 2-3 years. Not worth the hassle period.
That and I cant stand the man.
Please keep him...

Gus would be a hell of a lot better than the torture weve gone through the last few years.

It would present ARK with an opportunity to pickup CGM at a cheaper rate while letting AU pay the difference potentially.... he knows the recruiting landscape there, he would also be an improvement over the current HC...

Id be torn on it if it weren’t for the fact we currently have a QB that would be perfect for Gus’ system in KJ Jefferson. With KJ, I’d take Gus today.

Gus can't win more than 9 games at Auburn with Top 10 talent every year. What makes you think hell win even half that here with top 25-ish talent... In the same division.

We know Bobby, but by no we should know Gus.
He is stubborn to the hilt in his coaching and managing a program. He will never win another NC or get to one at Auburn without a miracle from heaven (see Newton's law, lol)
with much better recruiting... He would be mediocre here and bring all kinds of baggage.
Norvell, Leach, Heck even perhaps Kiffen, Gundy, Clark... any of these over the short bus please..
