Almost everyone Houston played "had an advantage on the block". Hell, they said the same thing when they played us and they whooped our arse. I think the tallest person on their roster was like 6'9''. Dude can coach.

one thing that really impressed me was the lateral movement and ability of Houston's guards to keep UK's players in front of them. not sure if that was the norm for them this season or just some extra tourney juice, but we for sure havent seen that from the Hogs very often the past forever.

Fairly normal for his team the last two years. Every single year they have improved defensively. Their adjusted defensive efficiency was 13th last year and 11th this year. Their effective defensive fg% was 6th last year and 1st this year.

Normally his teams are stronger on the defensive side of the ball but out of his last 13 years of coaching, 11 times his offense has finished in the top 40 and nine times in the top 30.

And they were 23rd in offensive rebounding. If he his hired, I think they will be one of the biggest differences between him and Mike. His teams rebound the ball well.

NCAA problems is one reason. Before Houston his last College coaching job was Indiana in 2008. Good news is he was a top assistant for two different NBA teams while he was away from college. I think that is one reason you can say he is a young 62 in terms of college coaching, he had quite the break before he was hired at Houston.

You're right. I didn't write an apology thread.

Meh! I don't know about that. I always was taught that it takes a real man to apologize and keep peace within the fambly. Are we fambly Boar?

a somewhat delusional, albeit perpetual razorback family>?

I have no problem apologizing when it's deserved, Rev. I did a whole "BoarEd Apology Tour" out on the main board.

And maybe I owe Beebe an apology. And maybe he will get one eventually.

Am I insane? Maybe. I hear it a lot. But as Carroll said, "all the best people are."

Am I family with you guys? Maybe. We all pull for the same team and because of that I'll get anyone's back who reps the Hogs. Even if I don't like them.

Honestly though guys, I ranted a little last night and it probably seemed over the top. But it was meant to be funny. Sometimes jokes just fall flat. But I can't apologize for that because if I start censoring myself then I won't ever be able to make people laugh and that's honestly what I try to do on here more than anything else.

Btw, if it comes time to start kicking haters in the arse I'll start with Hawgeye, or as I like to call him, "Trigger #2".

Get over it gal. Been a Hog fan since Eddie. If you were too you would know how this works.

Remember the "Come home Gus" threads? LMAO.

We probably gonna wind up with Wofford's coach via Pelphrey 2.0

So let me get this straight here’s your first comment.

Neither Beard or Sampson are coming. There. Saved you a weekend of talking about it for no reason .

Here’s your comment to me.

I’m trying to think who we hired after Sutton. Hmm, just can’t remember if he was a good national championship caliber type guy or not. Perplexing.

I assume you’re trying to say our more recent hires were less than great, no argument here but you’re still a fake fan douche.

Show me on this doll where I touched you to hurt your feelings...….

Yes, Nolan won a championship here. But we got lucky AF with Nolan. Frank saw potential in him and gave him a chance. If you think he was some kind of elite coach when we hired him, you obviously have no clue what you are talking about.

To top it off, the first couple of seasons under Nolan were brutal. Don't act like he came in and set the world on fire. He happened to be here when the best group of players to ever come through the state were here. He was a visionary coach, yes. But he was not an elite coach when we hired him.

Nolan Richardson is certainly an elite coach. He has won multiple titles. Not just the 94 team, but he was a winner everywhere he went.

How rare is it that you see a team to to the title game two years in a row? That's extremely hard to do no matter how good your roster looks. There's 64 teams in that tournament. It's a crapshoot. Unless you're an elite coach/team. Like Vilanova. Or the 94-96 Hogs.
