We were a 2.5 point favorite and found ourselves up 14 with the ball on Kansas’ side of the field with Kansas having no timeouts with under 3 minutes to go. I question the reverse call, but leading up to that call our coaching staff did a hell of a job with the cards they had.

Pitt is the one that called for the reverse. Not Briles.

This is Pitt. He goes into play-not-to-lose mode. Just like fricking Bert all over again.

What don’t you understand about being up by two TD’s with the ball with under 3 minutes to go? If anything, Pitt was too aggressive in calling the reverse.

If we would have aired it out with the lead we had and thrown a pick 6 you and your flock of jello brained drama queens would be in here melting even worse.

Please for the love of god…

Pitt just seems aggressive at the wrong times. We shut our offense down way earlier than with 3 minutes to go.....

And then with 3 minutes left were calling a reverse.

It's like we're gonna go for two points but not when we're playing for a win. We will wait till next possession where they get a response.......

That play to Landers was perfectly called and executed. Complete fluke that he dropped the ball on what have been lauded as a killer call otherwise.

The reverse wasn’t that bad of a call. It gained 9 yards and the ground caused the fumble that the refs fricked up. Hard to blame the coaches for not assuming his player would fumble. It was also sam who told kj to run it

yep and we went 3 and out 4 drives in a row gassing our d and allowing Kansas back in it. Sam didn’t want to look bad throwing the ball up that much even when they had 8 in the box so they were easily able to stuff the run.

what did you see from the Kansas D that makes you think we would’ve thrown a pick 6? They didn’t defend the screens very well, but even then all we needed to do was take a shot, not necessarily throw the entire drive or make a risky throw like a hitch. And other than the slant they picked off in the end zone they didn’t stop our passing game all night. Football isn’t played in a vacuum and last night by the end of the 3rd it was pretty obvious that anytime we wanted too we could move the ball on Kansas

All I will say negative, is sometimes when people are wide open on under throws, he throws short and down… is that a feature or a bug? Idk. But so many of those throws are at peoples feet. It happens so often that maybe they coach it that way.
he had a problem with overthrows early in his career. That maybe something that is taught so that at least they’re still catchable.

I was thinking it stops corners crashing and picking them off.

Drewbie, He is a heckuva coach!

Sam shuts him down too soon with a terrible D.

Running out the clock just doesnt work with our current roster.

108 freaking points scored in this game. There was NO D other than stopping some runs, mostly. And a few turnovers thankfully correctly called, and others that were WHAT THE!!!!

Having looked at Kansas this season, I knew we would absolutely have to pass the ball. Once we went to running the clock, folks in our section started yelling "SEC and Nanana, goodbye" I yelled, "Too Soon"

Yep. We pulled a Pittman period!

Idiots... I turned around and immediately told them, "To heck with the rest of the SEC, I hope they lose every game"

I would like to know the stats before and after the offensive shut down. Because they started scoring when our offense did 3 and outs because they were running up the gut 3 times in a row against a stacked box.

I think our offense has to be at least 50% of our defense at this point. Just keep scoring so our defense isn’t on the field.

you mean the reverse that worked really well with 3 minutes to go, the same one where Matt did NOT fumble?

that one? Pittboss called it? I'll bet he'll be happy to read your post.

you think "calling a reverse causes a fumble"? (or rather, non fumble)
