I agree with this. I kinda think he'd be like Houston Nutt. Or Gus. Or Butch.
All of those guys are gonna give ya an inconsistent team. A really good team ever once in awhile with multiple down years between.
Of that tier of candidates I think I'd like to see Leach the most. But here is where his personality factors in.

Of the ones you mention, he's the only one to put the University at risk of losing to a fcs team who which at one time was cause for immediate termination.

Yeah, my choice would probably be Kiffin anyways. He was my #1 before, no reason to change now.

Leach has won at least 8 games at Washington state the past 3 seasons. This has been a down year for them but the guy is consistent. He’s had some wtf games in the past but he always seems to make up for it by beating someone he shouldn’t. They took Oregon down to the wire just last week.

What about Dave clawson at wake forest? No one is talking about him but he’s got wake forest ranked and taken them to a bowl 4 years in a row

Every one is "realistic" and every one is better than what we have now.
This is a great list CFB. Only changes I would make:Kiffin at 5, Clark at 6. The rest of your top names are in the right order. After that the rest don't matter. I don't want another Clemson retread. Tried that with Ford. Tried that with Chad. No more Clemson hires. Venables is a coordinator and has NO P5 head coaching experience AND he's a Clemson coach. NO THANKS. The rest are solid though.

We could do much worse than Clawson.
He built winners at Fordham, Richmond, Bowling Green and now Wake Forest. He's had 10 win seasons everywhere he's been before Wake, and he's primed to have one this year.
He'd be a good semi under the radar hire who would stabilize the program.

Norvell is the clear #1 and we need to hire him asap. He has a $500k buyout. He has Arkansas ties and he is young. His undefeated and ranked program just hosted college gameday and beat a top 15 ranked team in a packed liberty bowl. Their fans were pumped and excited. He runs a spread offense that uses TE heavily. Which is basically perfect for Arkansas/TE U. His teams have exceptional special teams play. He will end up at one of our rivals if we don't make a move.
All of these things are true. Which is why the fricking idiots on the hill will pass on him over some bullshite. Bc they treat it like they are searching for a pastor instead of a fricking football coach. The BOT needs to be shown the door. Steinmetz needs to be shown the door. Yourachick needs to be told you are on the clock. Get this right or you can move on too. Somebody needs to tell Jerry Jones and Jim Lyndsey and every clown from the 64 team that this program isn't their personal play ground. We get enough SEC money to tell them thank you for your financial support but you don't know shite about hiring football coaches. Leave THAT to us.
