My extended family is there. Liberal as hell, but much nicer than most anywhere else that you could have taken a job.

Live there a year. Wife born and raised. It's just like any big city. Traffic sux. Cost is high. No pun intended. Heard they really upgraded the downtown area. Live in the southern area. Like normal, the northern area sux.

I'm in Denver. Live close to work is my advice. It's a good city and getting better. The housing market is tough but people want to be here so demand is very high.

Only ever visited, but liked it. People were nice and the area was clean. Good luck with the new job!

Gorgeous country. Learn to ski.

Great food, terrible politics.

My entire family is from the Denver area but me and my brother who grew up in Arkansas.

My entire family is extremely liberal but me and my brother who are conservatives.

I love to visit the area and my family and will actually be up there in two weeks to ski but I’ll never move back there for good.

I don't know about the history of Denver, but even just a couple decades, Colorado as a whole was a pretty rural cowboy-type, red state was it not? Did all the hippies migrate to there or was it solely the weed thing that Drew so many liberals?

I've only visited briefly, but I'm jealous - Colorado really appeals to me. Currently working on landing a gig in the Western Slope.

Colorado is probably the most 50/50 state in the union between democrats and republicans and y'all are acting like it's more liberal than California

Spent a lot of time around Grand Junction, Parachute, Rifle, back during the gas boom in the mid 2000's out there. We had some interest in some wells and I spent as much time as I could out that way. Ill never forget my first really big snow storm.

I had flown in to Grand Junction on a Tuesday and rented a car. I was scheduled to fly back in to Little Rock on Thursday. Big snow storm came rolling in Wednesday night and the Grand Junction airport told me they were likely not going to fly in our out on Thursday morning back to Denver. My connecting flight wasn't until 10 in Denver. So while it was still dark, I got in the rental and drove to Denver on I-70. That was the first time I had driven I-70 and I did it in a snow storm going very slow. It ended up taking me over 5 hours and barely made my flight out of Denver.

When I flew back in, I didn't catch the puddle jumper from Denver to Grand Junction because quite frankly, it scared the shite out of me on my first flight. Too much turbulence for me going over the Rockies. Anyway, that was the first time I drove I-70 in the daylight and I got to see what I had driven on when it was snowing its arse off my last trip. I about shite myself when I realized damn near half the trip, the interstate is just basically hanging on the side of mountains.

Cool story bro, I know. But I still remember that trip and how stupid it was of me to make the drive to this day.

We sold our interest in what we had to Oxy, but I have always been curious what ever happened with Rifle, CO. It was a small booming town for a while.

Denver is most definitely liberal which is what I think we’re mostly talking about. You could probably draw a nice dividing line from Littleton over to Cherry Creek. Everything south of it in the metro area is solidly Republican. Everything north of of it is heavy liberal or getting more liberal by the year.

Alright you do have a point, if this guy can't handle living near liberals he should stick to Douglas county
