Little things like playing on such a bigger field seem to change everything. All of a sudden there’s room to drop well hit balls all over the place.

The team of last year pretty much stayed consistent all year with the bats but got cold and lost in the supers.
This might be the opposite this time.

Baseball is a ridiculous sport. It would definitely be par for the course if we made it to Omaha after missing last year.
Was thinking the same

And last year was basically the same team with the huge distinction of having the best college pitcher I’ve ever seen. Other than Kopps is was just another solid team (again, much like this year). Nothing special whatsoever. That’s why I never understood the top 5 preseason hype.

Some of my favorite Omaha runs were on the road such as the 2009 run.

Was then when Chad Jones/LSU beat us in Omaha?

Probably back to Evan Taylor and hoping for a better night.
Hell, Hagen Smith is available too. Hopefully he won't look as discombobulated.

I think we’ll be conservative with guys that pitched today and we’ll be back to every arm available on Monday if it comes down to it.

Arkansas was highly ranked because of so many bats returning and it was the same with many teams. But like many players ever since Nate Thompson has been here, have regressed each year and this year was a big disappointment considering the hype. This is why he is taking the Kansas job because he wouldn't have one if he stayed.

I mean you’re right but That didn’t make sense to me. We all knew our bats were overrated by the end of the last year. It wasn’t a brand new discovery against NC state. There were signs along the way. Slavens completely fell off a cliff. He was hitting 350, hitting bombs the first half of last year.

Yes and they won it that year. Arkansas was ranked almost number one at one point during the year but fell in a big slump and almost missed out on a regional.

It doesn't but when you return that many bats with experience then it is hard not to leave them out of the top 10 and that includes some of the hype coming from the freshmen.
What people didn't expect was the bats being just about in every bottom half category in the SEC which puts pressure on an already suspect pitching staff that lost a Friday starter.

my real worry is one that I still have.
We have walks, been hit by pitches, got on base and HR's mostly.
I didn't get to watch tonight and haven't seen the box score, stats, etc. How many actual hits did we get? Are we learning to play small ball when needed or relying on Homers still? Love the result regardless...

We had 16 hits, seven of those hits were taters. What isn't shown in the box score though is the fact that we kept fighting our asses off and found a way to get it done in a hostile environment.
One of my main gripes about this team is how soft they've been and how they can never find a way to get it done when faced with adversity. They basically told me to go pound sand tonight.

Damn right, I thought we'd fold for sure and instead we fought back like fricking Rocky

Just got home too... Watched the game 6th inning on from a hotel parking lot in George, WA (seriously)... That eighth inning was pure magic. Battles hr reminded me of Welch's hr last year. I was so glad DVH brought McEntire in. With a six run lead the only thing that'll beat you is free bases.

Man proud of this team last night. Keep fighting boys!!!!

Welches plus another 100 feet. That thing was a moon butt plug.
Amazing game, glad I kept it on and major props to the team. Even with Okie State shitting the bed, huge statement.
That poor 3B/P, that dude has to be broken after that game.
One game at a time.
