Way too high

Is what everyones expectations are for this team, because of past teams. Let's let this season play out and see where we are. Our title series team had 20 losses and was 18-12 in SEC play.

It is hard for me to believe that a lineup with Wallace, Moore, Slavens, Turner, Lanzili, Webb, and Battles stays ice cold for 3 more weeks. They may very well stay ice cold, but I would not bet on it.

Every team that has the potential to face us will purposely save their lefties for us. That's the strategy I would go with.

That is a great strategy...but not all teams have solid left handed pitching. Left handed aces/solid starters are hard to come by.

First game of the NCAAt we will see a small schools ace...that is likely to be a righty. Second game of the regional we will see someones #2 starter. Game 3, we see someones #3 starter.

If a team doesn't give us base runners through walks and errors, they will typically beat us. We'll have to hope to do enough to win the games where we aren't hitting and the ones where we're given runners will be must wins.

Can't afford to lose 11-10, because we're going to have a game or three where we struggle mightily to get guys on base.

There doesn't seem to be any great teams this year except Tennessee

We are frustrated with inconsistent play but so is everyone else. And I guarantee no one is looking forward to playing at Baum with 12000 hollering folks in a Regional. Sure we can still lose, but we have a lot going for us when comparing ourselves to the rest of this year's field (instead of comparing us to years past)

Good point. We are lucky to be a big dog in college baseball. Incoming regional teams will not be used to the environment and talent they will be facing when playing us. We're tried and tested in the toughest league in America. We don't have to compare against other years.

D1 seems hell bent on having Texas in our regional. They are a dangerous team. Have better odds of wining it all than half the national seeds.

The committee loves them some storyline matchups though… So I could totally see them doing it.

(See: 21 vs Nebraska, 17 vs Missouri State, etc.)

Us and OK State took a beating in this week's projections.

The way we are/aren’t hitting we’ll be hard pressed to make it out of this regional against those teams.

"We feel like our guys play hard everyday. And we feel like 90% of the fans are awesome and there's 10% that put a lot out there. I feel bad for the players."

He said he talked to the team about it yesterday. He told them, "It's all about you, it's about us and our team."

If this team is worried about what fans are saying on Twitter and other social media, then no wonder we have been sucking.

It sounds like they're worried about what people think of them instead of pulling their heads out of their asses and hitting a damn ball.

I just don’t find any correlation between what they do online and hitting a ball better lol. People always say stuff like that when we’re struggling in any sport though. I don’t think griping about it online helps anything either.

I get pissed off too but when former players like Wicklander are getting into fights with the fanbase it doesn’t help accomplish anything but make us look bad. Maybe it’s just cathartic for some of our fanbase.

I don’t know if this was aimed at my comment, but I wasn’t dissing our team but giving the other teams props for being very dangerous opponents.

I don’t disparage our players in any sport.

I will get downvoted to oblivion, but here is what I think is happening and what should happen.

1. DVH knows this game, he has had tougher years in the past and he has had criticism. Dude!
2. He is using this as a bit of motivation to rally the guys.
3. It may backfire and burn his butt.
4. I would prefer he keep that in house instead of going public with it myself. but again, he showed them publicly that he had their backs I suppose.

5. It is much ado about NOTHING BURGER!

This is the result of being successful in baseball for so long that criticism becomes part of it. I certainly wouldn't go on social media and complain about it, that comes off as thin skinned unless it was death threats then criticism shouldn't be censored.

I would welcome and accept all forms of criticism because you certainly can't be better individuals if you are shielded from the real world. If anything if I am DVH, I would be very angry on why we let a beatable Vandy team that was having an off year go into baum and kick our arse which could possibly lose out on a top eight seed. Use that series as motivation and prove the critics wrong.
