didn't watch the game, but pitching must have been incredible or we still can't hit worth a darn, or both or...
What does this season really tell us about this team?

I agree, we kept winning series after series last year but a lot of them were by the skin of our teeth. It is odd to say that about a team that was ranked first in the country for so long but we never knew what Arkansas team was going to show up on a given day. Sometimes from inning to inning.

Couple of interesting call outs in terms of where we rank in the SEC:
BA - 7th
OBP - 7th
HR - 6th
Fielding % - 1st
Errors - 2nd fewest
ERA - 3rd
Opp. BA - 3rd
Net net, despite having a lineup littered with offensive talent and several question marks in the pitching staff, this team is being carried by pitching and defense.

That team peaked the whole regular season and didn't get better once adversity struck.

Yeah if the offense could ever get going the way it should we’d be dominate

I don’t want any part of Texas Tech. They’re scrappy as hell.
Not a huge fan of the Texas pairing either, but hopefully we’d host if we hold onto our ranking.

That’s absolutely not true.
Two key injuries in the SEC Tourney and they still won it. Swept their regional. Got cold the last two games of Supers.
It happens. It’s baseball.

Would be interested how many of you said the same thing in 2018 when at this same time that team sat at 29-13, had just been swept on the road by Miss State. That team was 3-3 in SEC series at this point in the season.
Here’s the bottom line with this team…They’re 32-9 at the 41 game mark. Not many better starts in school history. They are coming off a tough road series where they lost 2 games each by a single run. This team is on pace to win 20 games in SEC play. Winning 20 games in this league normally means you’re a title contender. That’s about all you can ask for.

That damn foul ball clouds everyone’s judgement. Don’t want to get our hopes up.

I am trying to imagine Baum Stadium for a super regional vs a Texas team with a catcher taking pulls of booze 8 months after the arse beating we gave them in football.
They may withdraw their SEC application

This did not happen. We lost to Nebraska once and dang near lost a 2nd time. I’m not disagreeing with your point necessarily but I think that team struggled a bit more than just the last 2 games of the Super.
