Wouldn’t that be some shite if he ends up staying here after every hog fan cussed him and threw him under the bus
Over half of them were doing that before all this started, because “he isn’t a good OC”.

I'm still wondering who they will get to fill the last assistant spot.

Would be a great hire.
That 2015 offense was a thing of beauty. One of the best we’ve ever had, and put 54 on Auburn, 53 on Ole Miss, 31 on LSU, 50 on Mississippi State (we win that game if Bert doesn’t take the ball out of BA’s hands and play for the field goal), and 45 on Kansas State.
Brandon Allen’s development in 2015 and Austin Allen’s development in 2016 were due in no small part to his coaching. He was also pivotal in the development of both Tua and Taulia Tagovailoa.
I also love how he uses the TE, as we saw with Henry, Sprinkle, and O’Grady. This year at Maryland they had two TEs who put up 494 yards and 314 yards and 6 TDs between them.

I don't think it is a slam dunk... but I do think the hire addresses the thing we most need. Someone who can develop QBs. KJ is an amazing athlete who has gotten by with being an amazing athlete. If he can develop passing touch with his existing skill set he's one of the scariest players in the country.
Could this all blow up in our faces? Well. Yeah. Could replacing Odom and Briles be a good thing in the long run for the program? Well. Yeah.

But is that really what happened?
Weve always had to sift through a bunch of BS to end up still guessing on conclusions

Briles’ best friend posted this today on 247. Minus him making it sound like Sam was completely cool with it, I imagine this is pretty accurate.

Unlike other previous stops by my friend I have an attachment to this place that wont end anytime soon. My college golf coach Brad McMakin is still the head hog for the Men’s Golf program and we are extremely close. This August I will play in the Tyson Invitational at the Blessings for the 13th straight year. Mr. Tyson and I talk on a weekly basis. My nephew went to Arkansas. I say all this because when I leave the board i will still watch closely for a program and University I care for. As does KB.
Now for what you all want. Two weeks ago today Kendal Briles was given a noon deadline to accept the Mississippi state job or remain at Arkansas. Arkansas made it clear frommthe word go that they were not going to match Mississippi States offer if 1.5,1.6, 1.7. After a face to face meeting with HY, SP, and KB they all decided together that it was in KB’s best interest for his future to stay at Arkansas. They agreed in principal to a 1.35, 1.45, and 1.55 deal with the title of associate head coach. Everyone was happy and ready to move forward.
Fast forward to Friday the 13th and Kendal’s dear friend Kaz Kazadi rings him and says Garret Riley is gone and we only want you. Kaz and KB are like brothers. The Dykes family and Briles family are close as well. Art Briles spoke at Spike Dyke’s (Sonny’s dad) funeral. The opportunity to go work 70 miles from where he grew up, do it with extremely close people, and do it in the state of Texas in the conference he was “banished” from proved to be too much for him to turn down.
Despite reports there was ZERO drama. KB was to fly to Fort Worth saturday morning and begin recruiting. Pittman and HY asked him tonstay so the class didn’t fall apart and he didn’t recruit the same kids he had helped aign here. He immediately called Sonny Dykes and said Sonny these people have been good to me I want to do this the right way. Sonny immediately agreed and that is why it carried on until today.
Kendal Briles is extremely fond of NWA and he truly believes he had to make this moves to be a head coach and he dreams of being here some day.
I know many will tell me to screw off and hate KB and thats fine. I expect it but this is the truth. Sam Pittman called KB at 2 pm yesterday and thanked him for handling this the right way.
So it is not goodbye from me even though I wont have much insight anymore I will drop in every now and again amd say hello and will cheer my **** off for the Higs every Saturday!!!! It was a heck of a ride!!!!

great post Chesh
this is what the Arkansas "media" refuses to ever give us. A report on what actually happened.
They rather let rumors float around in the air until it's useful for them to make up some shite and act like they're Nobel historian

Everyone that thinks losing Briles is a good thing are going to run with that and tell themselves that's what happened, even if it didn't.
Posted on 1/19/23 at 3:42 pm to HogPharmer
I'm not saying it's a good thing, but it's also not the tragic loss others making it out to be.
Our offense might not gain as many statistically, but I am hoping it becomes more efficient in the red zone and when we have big leads.

Thanks for the post as always chesh but for fricks sake that dude couldn’t use spellcheck before pressing submit?
Posted on 1/19/23 at 4:03 pm to TheCheshireHog
They wouldn't match 1.5 1.6 and 1.7 but they paid Odom 1.8 for that POS defense? That's fricking stupid.
Posted on 1/19/23 at 4:03 pm to TheCheshireHog
So think everybody: Who would be responsible for us "needing" to save $150K a year under what Miss State was going to pay and "we" refused to match?
That would not be Sam and Hunter.
The same people from the past 20 years are fricking with the program again

Thanks that's good info and insight.
And to think not one mention of Gus malzahn or Rhett in any of that logic. Guess that conspiracy can be retired

It’s not detrimental to the program at all. Pittman having a replacement on standby to me was a boss move.
From a personal preference, I like the Enos offense better. I like for our offense to huddle up before each snap. I like some pro formations. I like the idea of not going 3 & out within ten seconds of game time to give the defense a bit more rest here and there.
