We apparently already have our OC. Already agreed on everything when Briles was flirting with State.

I didn’t read it as that. I read it as we had our plan B ready when it looked like he was going to State. Now he is going to TCU so we fired up the conversation with plan B again.

For the record I'm just pulling this from 247. But no that's not how I read it. They were fine with him coming back but Pitt had already conducted a search and had the guy he wanted to replace Briles if he did end up going to State.

Once the TCU stuff started coming out I don't think Briles would have been allowed to stay lol

I had heard contact had been made with two, possibly three oc options. But wanted so badly for KB to stay.

I agree that this drama happening again so close to Miss State caused some ruffelled feathers for sure.

I will be honest folks, I am a bit on edge with this one. Pittman has seemingly upgraded every time we lost a coach, other than Deke????

But KB was a good/great oc overall. and Pittman meddled a bit too much imho.

I just don’t see who out there that is similar or an upgrade. We’re in a for a huge downgrade in my opinion.

This was what was posted on 247 from someone in what I am guessing is family to Peyton Hillis because they have been updating the board on his condition.

quote:

Some things I can say and some I can’t. What I can is what I stated Monday in that Kendall was pretty much gone to Miss St at one point. Pitt is a smart man and found a new OC at that time. Kendall got cold feet and came back. He was told that he needed to be fully committed here in the future which he said he was. Once the TCU rumors leaked, he was gone either way whether he wanted to be or not. He wasn’t getting $1 more from the U of A. They contacted the OC who was agreed on before Kendall backed out on Miss st when they heard this and he is back on board. This search is finished even if it doesn’t leak out to the media for a couple of days. Pitt and Hunter are beyond over the games

Danny just replied to it “Seconded” so I take that as verifying the accuracy of the post.

Sexton doing work doesn't even matter if he represents the HC.

For that person to be put on the back burner and is automatically back on board = position coach or small school OC

Definitely shows you where he rates Sam versus Kendal is the grand scheme of things.

Makes sense though as Sam will probably be retired within 5 years max and Kendal could be a money maker for 20 years.

If I walked in my boss's office every other week demanding a raise because somebody offered me more I'd expect him to tell me to take the job because he's sick of me not being committed to my current job.

Knowing HY I'm sure he told KB the same and I respect him for it.

Now lets just hope Sam has a quality OC lined up like he did at DC.

Or is a coach with long ties to Arkansas. There are some out there that fit that billing and would come back in a heartbeat... particularly if they thought that they would have an inside shot at being the next HC.
