I do hope we go the young, innovative OC route and not a retread like Chaney or Bobo.

I want to trust Sam but he was also trying to hire the now Michigan State OC before Briles fell in to his lap. That doesn’t instill a lot of confidence in me as that guy is terrible as an OC.

He probably thinks going 6-6 is hurting his stock. He wants to jump to a better situation than here if Arkansas has a losing season next year. If that happens then he puts himself at risk of getting fired. If he is fired then he takes a huge cut in pay and pretty much starts at the bottom of the coaching hierarchy.

Most offensive coordinators don't stay past the fourth year. They are fired, take another OC job or take a head coaching job like Odom when they are informed of being pushed out.

I believe had Arkansas gone 9-3/10-2 then Briles would have taken a head coaching job at a power 5 program.

I guess Briles wants to be an OC for life. Jumping from one program to another.

Well, we're either about to get poached by TCU or Sexton is putting on the pressure after he asked for a raise and we told him "tough shite".

Don't go after the OC for life types. Go get the ones who want to be head coaches.

I don't believe it is particularly his fault but you aren't getting a raise for going 6-6. Those seasons are reserved for taking out the garage.

His current wage is fair enough and if he doesn't like it then move on.

I'm more concerned about K.J going with him than the status of Briles.

If he announces tomorrow does that allow transfers to reconsider?

I don't see any rules against it but rules need to be put in place.

Y’all crack me up. Getting upset over ‘very close to finalizing a deal’. Pretty sure that was said about Miami and Mississippi State as well.

It’s like people are constantly standing at the edge of a cliff waiting for even a hint of a reason to jump. Then when this doesn’t materialize and KB stays at Arkansas, it’s back to the edge waiting for the next bad news possibility.

If this has legs and he takes Kj with him, I am done with football.

yeah, He gone...

At least he better be after this drama over and over again. But I still believe he is an awesome coordinator and will make a great HC one day.

What I can't believe is that he is putting his family through this again in Texas. The pitch fork crowd are out in full over the Baylor stuff.

Sucks for us I suppose. I really can't think of a OC I would want to replace him considering the circumstances. Good thing it is Sam's choice and not mine

he hasn't been at the last two recruiting visit activities...

Nobody from the Arkansas side has commented on this other than when passing. On 247 TB and DW thinks he is most likely gone.

This after the Miss State thing, and even been rumored that TAMU interviewed him. Too much smoke man. Yep, I am down about this, Hopefully I am wrong.
I can't get anyone to comment to me about this in the NW A area this time.
