We have to get in game shape and get some reps for our 1's and 2's

This was the biggest thing I took from Bert's presser. I would also use this upcoming game to work heavily on the passing attack, our boys know how to run the ball, now they need to learn how to pass and catch the damn thing.

I still go back to last year and not working on the passing game in some of our early games as being a reason we couldn't do much the rest of the year.

THIS is a legit comparison to something that Nutt always did.

Bert said most likely no JoJo this weekend. Got hurt during practice.

Also no De'Andre Coley or Sleepy McKinney either due to injuries.

I'd ply our two deep all game long.

I agree, we need to be hitting on all cylinders at Texas Tech.

If this game was in the middle of the season, I could see getting the freshmen a lot of reps in the second half. Right now those reps would be more be more beneficial to our 2 deep.

I think Nichols St. beats the spread.

Arkansas is going to have to prove to me they can cover a spread before I believe they can.

I'm with you. I don't have faith we can beat anyone by 39.

SUCKS that Jojo, Coley, and Sleepy are all out this weekend. These are the kinds of games where players like this could have really played a ton. Sure would have liked Coley to get a chance to replace Gaines, but hopefully Liddell steps up instead.

Gave up 500+ yards rushing to AirForce

While I'm not worried about this game in the least (famous last words, I know), every passing offense we face will have me biting my fingernails.

I've said it for the last four years - if I'm an opposing head coach or offensive coordinator, I'm lining up 4 or 5 wide out of the shotgun on every play and throwing every down until we stop it.

I remember when we played Rutgers at RRS in 2012 and we were containing their stud tailback on the ground, but we couldn't stop their receivers. For some reason, Flood kept forcing the run in the first half. I remember telling my wife at halftime, "if I'm Rutgers' AD, I'm firing their head coach if they don't come out in the second half and throw it every fricking play." Sure enough, they course-corrected and we made Gary Nova look like Peyton Manning.

What's especially frustrating is that a school like UTSA, which if I'm not mistaken JUST STARTED THEIR PROGRAM a few years ago, can trot out DBs who can at least stay with their man or make a tackle.

This is based on the 5 minutes of game action I was able to catch, but still.

I wanted to vomit every time I saw our would-be tacklers bouncing off of Auburn receivers or backs like they were Christian Okoye in Tecmo Bowl.

I like Robb Smith and his concepts, but we need to get better at fundamentals pronto if we're making a bowl this season, especially since we're playing more passing-oriented and hurry up offenses this year.

I think most of that happened in the 2nd half when our players were gassed. One thing I noticed was that we were rarely out of position in the run game. We made the plays in the first half, and our lack of depth came through in the second half when we were obviously fatigued, that's when we started missing tackles.

I'd agree on run defense, but the secondary wasn't good at all in pass defense all game long.

I can see our defense being gassed, due to the HUNH, but our offensive linemen shouldn't have been.

This worries me.

Man I was looking forward to seeing JoJo and Coley out there. Liddell will be interesting to watch though.

Kinda want to see what Kendrick Edwards has got too

would like to see Austin Allen get a meaningful series as well. You never know when we are going to need him.
