What effect will losing at LSU in the next game have on the Hogs making the tournament? Will every game after that be a must win? Or am I overthinking it?

We're not even close to on the bubble still, we will have to lose 11+ games to miss the tournament.

LSU - W

South Carolina - W

Vanderbilt - W

at Ole Miss - L

Texas A&M - W

Kentucky - W

at Alabama - L

Auburn - L

at Missouri - L

9-9

This is my honest feeling about the rest of the season. I believe losing to LSU would kick us into a below .500 finish before the SECT.

I hope you're right. Lunardi had us at a 10 before last night I believe.

It was a 9 and someone asked him on Twitter if this loss changed anything and he replied "not really". At least I believe that is a accurate.

I think we need 22 to for sure be in.

We won't get that many and could easily get left out.

You have to mean post SECT. This team is not getting to 22 wins regular season. I'd actually be pretty surprised by 20.

Yeah, I'm including the SEC tourney in that number. This team could easily get bounced by our first opponent in the SEC tourney though

It's not THAT dire yet. Still not a position we should have expected to be in returning nearly the entire team from a round of 32 team that pushed a 1 seed to the brink though. We have two games left on our schedule that would save us from missing the tournament even if we do shite the bed on the road the rest of the season assuming we can beat one of either Kentucky or Auburn at home, which I'm not putting money on.

Barford, Macon and Beard aren't getting the Hogs to the Sweet 16.

Thomas, Bailey, Cook are averaging 3.7 ppg.

Gafford and Thompson are averaging 7.2 ppg.

You'd think that Mike would see the problem.

Hell, if he hadn't run off Babb and Whitt, he could've run 4 guards and a big. I'm sure Whitt or Babb would've averaged more than our current forwards.

We're predicted to finish conference at 9-9. I think if we go 1-1 in the conference tourney, we are probably in, but at an 8-9 seed at best. I think we can go 8-10 and still get in, but I think we start reaching bubble range at that point.

Except it's not nearly the same team. We're missing Moses and Manny from last year. Moses is a way bigger lose than people realize. (Maybe they're starting to) Manny brought it every night on defense, WE DESPERATELY could use a scrapper like Manny on our team. Our defense sucks because no one keeps each other in check defensively. Manny made people play better, because of how hard he played. Dusty was a very versatile scorer and we're trying to match his offensive production basically with two players who fill one part of what he used to do offensively (CJ Jones and Darius Hall) and it hasn't worked out as well. These are huge loses. Gafford is great and exciting, but Moses last year was a double double machine, Pre-Season SEC player of the year who had an outside touch, great shot blocking and high basketball IQ to not get in foul trouble too often. I love Gafford, but his outside game is not developed yet, and he fouls his way to the bench all too often. Obviously, his ceiling is enormous, but he's not as good of a player as Moses was last year. I'm starting to think this team just isn't as good as the one last year. They're still a good team. A really good team, one of the best in the country. Capable of doing damage in the tourney.......just not like last year. The leadership is just not there defensively, 3 of our seniors who get significant minutes (Arlando, Trey, and Dustin) are lucky to score 15 combined points, and the ball movement is just horrendous. It wasn't all that great last year, but it's just that much worse this year. Literally looks like a pick up game at times. Anton needs to find his shot or we are so screwed. We can't continue to get 20 points a game from 4 seniors playing as much as they do. The blame for this season rests on this senior class being extremely underwhelming outside of Macon & Barford, and those seniors not being leaders by setting the tone defensively with EFFORT every night. All this being said, we have a lot of season left, and we will make the tournament. We can still lose 4 more games, and I know our team will get it together. We can't shoot much worse than we have recently. This team is going as far as our seniors take us though. It's time they step up big time.

Right now our predicted conference mark is 8-10 and 19-12 overall with an RPI at 59.

That is not going to make the NCAAt

I love getting downvotes for saying we might miss the tourney. This place is turning really pussy lately.

I think they're just downvoting you personally because you say the same shite every year.
