Why are we so snakebit as a program? I wish I was never brought up as a hog fan. It’s as if you know you (as a fan) are on the cusp of greatness, but a swift kick in the nuts is right around the corner. I’m still hurting. Mother frick.

This topic serves no purpose. I’ll go DIAF now.

That loss still hurts for sure. We are a state of loyal psychopaths coming back for this year after year. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m a hog for life.

I understand where you and many of our fans feel like we are snakebit. To me the most damning evidence of "bad luck" is the fact that the AP flip flopped on their national title naming procedure for football after the 1964 season. Then you can consider the BS about McFadden not winning the Heisman. Then look at the fact that Petrino wrecks his motorcycle - AnM comes into the conference - and they have a heisman winning force of nature on their team..... perfect storm for us to hit the shitter. ALL of that sucks......... but it could be worse.

Plenty of other teams experience shitty luck - #4thand25 for ole miss. They've never been to the SEC championship.
The rebels also had one of their greatest baseball seasons and they can't get out of their regional.

We could also be a lower level school who basically has to win their conference to even have a chance of making a regional or a team who wins their conference year in and year out and still is an afterthought because it's the equivalent the 6A East.

We also have a shite ton of national titles that sadly a good portion of our fanbase don't care about - which is evident by the lack of anger in relation to our men's track program rapid decline (I know some of us are there but the general population of fans don't care). We also have a gross amount of fans who like to discredit any success the Razorbacks have. I know plenty of "realists" who shite on the 1964 national title.

We made it to the national championship and we were a foul ball or one strike away from winning it all. That sucks but it still was an awesome season. I'm not going to try and tell you that it didn't/doesn't hurt. It does. It sucks. If I'm an "enabler of mediocrity" for being happy with our season than so be it.... I am.

OK - I rambled. I'm proud to be a Razorback. I hope you are too.

We do have more then our share of bad luck. Still, even with all the ups and downs its not a bad time to be a Razorback fan.

Sure, this last year our football team was arse, our men's basketball team underwhelmed, and the track programs (men and women) did not compete at the level we've come to expect from them.

That having been said we made the CWS finals and were ranked in the top 5 all season. Our women's golf team were ranked 2nd for a good chunk of the season before hitting a bad spell during the NCAA championships. We actually have decent teams in Softball and Soccer, perhaps a sign that we are in the Final Days. We are, as odd as this will sound, doing better across all sports then we've every done before.

Our football team is rebuilding. Our baseball team should still be good next year with a lot of young talent. Our men's track program... yeah, you got me there. We need to fire some folks. There have been much worse times to be a Razorback.

JFB should’ve kicked the FG in 1969 against Texass.

I've been down hard lately. I know it's dumb to be so down about a college sport, but damn I can't help it lol. Hilltops post really helped put it in perspective though. Thanks for that.

I'll add this.... the greatest thing about the trip to Omaha was seeing the quantity and quality of Razorback fans travel. I saw a ton of regulars from Baum but I also met fans from across the state that had never been to a Razorback baseball game.

It was the first time since the Sugar Bowl that I felt the ENTIRE state was supporting the Razorbacks.

Downvoted for calling it "Jerry's World", like a shithook from Hogville.

It's "Jerry World". The reference is to places like "Disney World" or in the movie Vacation, "Wally World", neither of which are called "Disney's World" or "Wally's World".

We're not snakebitten.

We're in loser denial.

We've perfected snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Accept it.

I'm not rustled. I'm just pointing out that you sound stupid calling it "Jerry's World", and you miss the point of the reference.

Its the same as people who say "Walmarts".

They sound like choads. If the shoe fits...

Arkansas is snakebit as a state.

Examples:
1. The best part of the Ozarks are in Arkansas, but all the touristy things are in Missouri. Dumbass state/local government didn't think to promote those resources before Missouri/Branson did.

2. Hot Springs should have been what Las Vegas currently is. Backwards state government cracked down on gambling and the rest is history.

There are tons more, but it is just part of being an Arkansan.

FedEx would have built their headquarters in Arkansas beside the airport, but local politicians got involved and FedEx took their money to Memphis.

Yet, grammatically speaking, if a person has ownership of something, it would be that person's property.

Jerry Jones is the owner, therefore "Jerry's World"...

Again, I don't give a damn what the ville does, evidently it is ingrained in your thinking or you would not have chose to show such an interest.

and a Choad? damn man, I thought this lingo was thrown out years ago. If you consider that as a put down, congrats man.. .feel good about yourself.

Peace!
