One would assume he is a better fit for the Arkansas job, but not necessarily true. Tenner needs a guy that has experience recruiting the Carolinas and Georgia. Morris has that.

Arkansas is a more stable looking environment right now, but only by a little. Unfortunately.

Yeah. I'm not even sure what Tennessee's level is anymore. It isn't very good, that's for damn sure.

Yeah, every time I read Twitter, I feel brain cells disintegrating. I try to refrain most of the time.

I'm sorry, but Morris does nothing for me. Other guys on the market have turned around bad programs far quicker than he has. (and I really don't count 7 wins as a turnaround)

I'm also tired of hearing how "SMU was the worst job in the country" when he took over.... Worse than Kansas?? Nope, worse than Idaho? Nope... Worse than UCF? Nope. Was it bad, yes, but this guy must has junk shots of everyone in the media because his resume simply does not stack up to his reputation.

In a c in be necessary where Memphis just went 7-2, SMU was 4-4 with a 1-4 road record and loses most of his close games...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we just fire a guy who couldn't quickly rebuild a program and couldn't win close or road games?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but want he the worst coach in 70 years at Arkansas?

I also don't believe Morris can recruit like Kiffin or even Norvell. Analytics all say Morris is also the worst of the 3 in Norvell, Kiffin and himself.

Look deeper into it than just the record... here are his Sagarin rating. SMU was in the 200’s when he took that job. It was the worst D1 school as far as rankings. His current team is 136 points better than the one he took over. Dabo was 14-19 w/o Morris. He’s lost 4 games

I'm not sure if the 14-19 without morris is correct.

Saw that as well, took about 10 seconds going down his timeline. Extreme homer

Well, one thing I do know is that if June Jones couldn't win there that program is in bad shape.

Jones is an offensive mastermind.

June Jones left that program in worse shape than most realize. Some people close to the program say it was in worse shape after Jones than after the death penalty.

Morris is a winner... He can build a winner here. I'm tired of people thinking we can do better.....

we won 4 games last year FOR FREAKING GAMES...... I'd take 7 in a heartbeat right now.

And people thought Petrino left this program in bad shape. It isn't true. It just appeared that way because Jeff Long did a 180° turn in terms of philosophy with the Bielema hire and we didn't have the athletes he wanted when he got here.

If we could have hired Jeff Brohm right after Petrino we probably wouldn't have skipped a beat.

Point is that things like that matter. For instance, if we go with an air raid type coach with this hire (say like a Leach, or June Jones type candidate), we would be looking at another rebuild.

Problem is with our stadium expansion stuff I'm not sure we can afford a rebuild right now. We need to win games next season.

June Jones literally stopped recruiting for the last 2 seasons he was at SMU. It’s why he got fired

I don't completely agree. We have backs that would thrive in that system. We have a solid group of young receivers that are getting better. Seems like we have a group of QBs that can sling it and should be able to find the right trigger man. O line would need work but they need work on whatever style. a lot of the RPO stuff would actually help them out.

I think the problem would be along the offensive line. Other than that we have a lot of talent at the skill positions, which is a must in a system like that.

We may also need a better QB. Cole Kelly may do well in an RPO offense, but it would have to be a Tebow type package. He isn't a burner. And I haven't been impressed with his game as a pocket passer. At all.

spread teams generally don't do a ton of drop back. It's mostly quick game and RPO. There is some drop back stuff but it's set up much differently than we have been seeing the last 5 years.

If they are from Arkansas they won't be breaking jack squat for news. Must have been a real slap in the face to them to have football scoop break the Yurachek news. I hope they let Boca Raton news break the Lane Kiffin to Arkansas news.
