Would they though? If it was made known they would be starting they would still be here. Why would players playing their last year sit when they can start at LSU?

I think a big part of the move is they were both Louisiana kids who probably wanted to play for LSU growing up. Either they didn't like Coach O, or Coach O didn't like them, so they wound up here. With him out of the picture they got their shot at playing for LSU.

Add in the injuries to that position group and those two leaving was a nightmare. Particularly with Odom going with a high pressure blitzing defense with a lot of one on one coverage this year.

I like Mbake. Love guys who just want to play. He's really positive/all team type guy from all accounts I've heard.

Losing Buster Brown hurt and losing the team leader in Grant Morgan is missed with the linebackers.

Maybe the next game you follow that strategy but against State you have to have more secondary folks on the field. We have the defensive formula to beat them. No reason to deviate.

Yeah I guess you are right in that regard.... only problem is we are about out of Jimmies and Joes.

Strange year….we have the national leader in sacks (Sanders) and the 3rd ranked in interceptions (McGlothern)….and the worst overall defense against the pass in the history of football.

Here's a name that we must have really missed on.
Zack Zimos. All indications coming out of HS was that he would be a dude. Has rarely seen the field even as bad as we have been on the back end. It's a shame he hasn't panned out.

Wasn’t he supposed to be a good linebacker?

Let’s not delude ourselves. If he can’t get on the field this year then there’s very little chance he’ll ever be an SEC caliber player. I’d wager we’ll be using at least 2 of those 3 available years on someone else.

I’m not, it was a more, if he has been here 3 years and not seen the field, why hasn’t he transferred? Or maybe he is finishing that degree up and will get a masters elsewhere.

Zimos has been here 4 years.

This switch shouldn’t come as a surprise. The lack of young talent especially on defense has to be a major concern for Pittman.

Next years roster looks bleak

Arkansas has 34 true freshmen and 16 redshirt freshmen on the roster.

Mbake may turn out to be a good in the secondary. He's got the build just don't curious about speed. He's a pretty physical guy on special teams.

Hopefully he can pick up the calls this week and help.
